Requiring Lights Out Defensive Play Is Not A Formula For Success

OP is 100% correct, the defense is 3-0 and the offense is 0-1 this season. This offense just looks so lost when they aren’t running the ball. Dak looks mentally confused and can’t see the field and his accuracy is just foul. He needs to loosen up, it’s like he’s be scared by leading the league in picks last season.

The way this team is playing defense they only need someone who doesn't turn the ball over. That's until the playoffs start than this offense is going to have to do more.

Saw the OP at the Sheagles game. He sure looked nervous all game long...

We're 3-1.

The 1 is from the one game that the defense didn't play lights out.

The game last week showed what happens if the defense isn't dominate.

The defense/special teams have put the ball into the end zone more than the passing game has thus far.

This is not sustainable and if these red zone issues are not fixed we are going to lose more games that we should win.

Reading this bunk can drive one to become mentally confused.

As much as I am against doing that. They might have to play a cover 1 type of defense, with a spy on CMC and and just force Purdy to beat them. Place the whole game plan on stopping the run. Try and speed the game up on defense, and see if Dak can catch lightning in a bottle and have one of his great games.
Well I don't think there had bad game plans vs SF. The boys aren't getting blown out it's just the offense sucked. They kept SF under 20 last time, that should be a win if the offense pulls their weight.

That's not true and has been proven time and time again.

Nobody ever won a Super Bowl because someone like their Center played lights out.

There's certain positions that need to step up when things aren't going perfect and can really affect the outcome of games.
I don’t know how to respond to something like this.

So what you’re arguing is that certain people don’t need to show up? This is a 53 man roster, how many out of those guys have to show up?

23-17 but the Cowboys gave up 169 rushing yards and that slowed the game down. It was 23-7 going into the 4th quarter. 0 sacks.

But, yeah, I agree, the offense had the same old Red Zone problems we have seen for years.

How the hell could the defense be 3-0 when the Cowboys have played four games? Likewise, how can the offense be 0-1 with 4 games played? I guess the defense gets credit for the wins and no accountability for the loss, while the offense gets accountability for the loss with no credit given for the win. Either way, It's posts like this that make people question whether or not the poster has ever played a single down of organized football in their life.

It all comes down to next week. That’s the true test. The offense will likely have to play from behind ant some point, and we’ve seen a sample of that in Arizona. This offense will likely need a 4 TD performance minimum.

Yeah, the problem is with the way the NFL is now, they want points on the scoreboard. There are going to be games that offenses are getting the calls and just outplaying the defense, in those games, the offense has to be able to score more than...oh let's say 19 points.

I respect everyone's opinion because in reality, I would at least hope, we all want the same thing, which is a Cowboys win each week. There are always things that can be better, offense, defense, special teams, specific players, etc...but why not cross the bridge with those complaints when we get there?

If requiring "lights out defense" isn't a recipe for success, why not wait until specific games and issues arise to vent those complaints? We won 38-3 and the same day, hours later, we are gonna pick apart what's going to lead us to lose games later? Inevitably, we are going to lose a couple of games, it's the way the season plays out for even the better teams in the league. Why not allow yourself to enjoy the win one week at a time?

I've pissed and moaned over coaching, players, scheme, God knows what else in past seasons. It's one week at a time and we are 3-1. I'll address concerns If we have a crap game like last week but you gotta play the game one week at a time. Nothing wrong with enjoying and being happy with a big win. Of course it's just my opinion, but a win is a win.
