If Romo played late in games the way he did vs Buffalo in 07 he wouldn't carry the stigma he does now.
You are referring to a thought that exists only in the minds of those who don't realize the top 2 QB late in close games are Rogers and Romo.

You're referring to a thought that exists only in the minds of those who are totally consumed by passer ratings. I doubt Rodgers has thrown as many game ending int's as Romo. His game ending int's certainly haven't had much affect on his late game passer rating for him to be #2 on that list. That further proves how irrelevant a stat it is.

If you don't know the facts then your opinion means much less. Romo is roughly 38% in GWC and Rodgers is about 16%. Rodgers A/YPA+ is slightly higher than Romo's but both are very good. Romo's INT% >5mins is more than Rodgers but not hugely different.

Which matters more? Twice as effective in GWCs ie winning the game ~40% of the time when down in the 4th or a slightly better INT%?? I'll take the QB who comes from behind twice as often as the other guy.

Most of you who clammer about Romo choking and high INT rates with the game on the line spew a party line which bares little resemblance to reality. And you pontificate those erroneous opinions as if they are ex cathedra mocking those who actually have their facts straight.

Comparing Rodgers and Romo in late game situations is like apples and oranges. Late wins in sept and october dont mean much if they cant happen in december aswell. End of story. IDC about Romo stats. Just care about wins. And the Cowboys as a whole havent won in december. And Romo is apart of that problem too. People get caught in them stats and forget that Romo can be good in sept-nov, and horrible in dec. And come out with a avg that is misleading. If you really want to get technical about them stats.

Romo's GWC% is twice that of Rodgers'. Show me where Rodgers has in his career more GWD's and GWC's in the last qtr of the year. You can scrub the first two years of each player. Check out the last 5 mins of games, too.

Also keep in mind that overall Rodgers has played with much better receivers than Romo and has had better teams surrounding him over their careers. Keep in mind its a team game and how much better GB has drafted than DAL (and any other team in the NFL),

If someone said pick Romo or Rodgers for your team; you can have either but not both. I'd truly have a difficult time picking one. I'd likely go with the younger player as they are both very good QBs. A lot of Romo's much higher GWD and GWC % is due to the fact we don't have a lead in the 4th and/or can't protect a lead. But keep in mind that Romo still does it despite running a less talented team.

Show me where Romo has had the success Rodgers has? Rodgers has went thru teams filled with injuries and teams with bad defenses. And saying Rogers had had better WRs is garbage. Romo has had the likes of TO, Glenn, Witten, Dez, Crayton. If i had a choice between the two, Rodgers would be the pick without a second thought. Thats an obsurd statement.

Games 12-16, 2010-2013 (min 12 g)
Rogers 109.8
PManning 106.9
Romo 104.2
Brees 100.8
Brady 99.2

Romo isnt the problem in Dallas. But hes done his own share of blowing enough games in december to be known for that. Its not about any agenda or conspiracy against him. Its just reality. He has blown plenty of games with bad throws at the end of close games throughout his entire career.

I just showed you the success Romo had with GWD and GWC. What's your definition of success? And most would say over time Rodgers has had by far the better WRs. You can't name one guy here and there but you must look at all the WRs each year.

Winning should be the bar to success right? Football isnt a team sport, but isnt Romo apart of the team? He shouldnt be blamed because he gets stats galore? You cant sit behind ur computer and type that Romo hasnt had his fair share of bad throws to end games at the end of the yr. Its amazing how people want to blame every part of the organization but Romo. To some its like he does no wrong. I dont see how they would say that on the WR topic between the two WR corps. It might seems like that because Rodgers just doesnt throw INTs. He's only thrown double digit INTs twice in his career as opposed to Romos 6 out of 8. And it wouldve been 7 out of 8 but he missed 10 games in 2010 and already had 7 INTs in 6 games.

since 2009 GB has had 5 1000 yrd guys. DAL has had 7

Rodgers does throw less INTs than Romo. His INT% is about 2 which is very good. Romo's is I believe 2.6 which is close to being very good. The elite QBs generally get better over time and Rodgers is in the 1.2-2ish range. Romo has had two years around 3ish and three years 1.6-1.9. If you throw out the early years then Rodgers is in the low to high 1% and Romo in the mid to high 1% to 3ish. Basically Rodgers throws 1.8 INTs per 100 passes and Romo throws 2.7 per 100 passes. That's about 1 more every 3+ games or 3-4 more a year.

Romo's GWDs and GWCs are in the top five in the NFL.....ever. Rodgers is not in the same ballpark.

I don't look at stats by themselves and they have to be interpreted carefully, looking at the tape knowing the play call and responsibilities of each WR, who's hot, who's primary yada, and knowing down, distance and game situation. All that means is we fans can't really look at the stats or even the All22 along with the stats and know the truth.

My criteria is watching them play and knowing either of them is capable of winning it all. I wouldn't trust my judgment on this but listen to the myriad of players who say Tony is elite and can win. If Roger and Troy, who have the knowledge as well as the inside information, say he can win then I'm listening.

But as always you're entitled to your opinion. Enjoyed the debate but gotta go buy tires for my daughter's car.

Of course it's not a conspiracy, and there's usually no agenda either. What it boils down to is the pure laziness of accepting perception as reality.

Well if youre watching it as carefully as youre implying with this post you yourself know that Romo's failures have come from him making bad throws, and keying in on Witten. If you go over his career a big portion of his INTs will be trying to force throws to Witten.

Wow... That is just mind blowing right there. You would have a hard time picking an elite hall of fame caliber Qb over Romo? Your loyalty to Romo is almost as strong as Jerry's. That is kind of impressive in an obsessive kind of way.

If that was your criteria then you would know there is a massive difference between Romo and Rodgers. You would know that one of them is an elite QB. And the other is a QB who can't be counted on when you need him most.
