Revisiting Romo's Late Game Stats

Curious do you know where we could compare team W/L records to quarterback W/L records or team W/L records in big games vs their quarterback records in W/L big games?

No I don't waste my time with all of that. lol

I know from researching playoff games and SB's that the QB who has the better TD to turnover ratio their team usually wins.

That I wouldn't doubt. That's not exactly evidence of a higher win correlation than pass rating, though. I'm talking about literally thousands of games worth of evidence that say "this is what wins in the NFL."

I laughed when I read it wondering why you're asking me when you call yourself da_whiz_kid. lol

Rhetorical question. lol

The Whiz thing has everything to do with my last name.

You don't lose any passer rating points for missing on a big play
.
Explain how this would work. How big could this pass play have been if it would not have had any effect on pass rating?

See how many playoff games and SB's you can find since the NFL became a pass happy league where the winning QB had a worse TD to turnover ratio than the losing QB. There's plenty of evidence to prove my point just look at the TD to turnover ratio of the last 2 SB winning QB's compared to the opposing QB's.

Even back in the 70's and 80's more turnovers than TD's by a QB usually got you beat. The intensity level is up several notches in playoff and SB games and turnovers especially by the QB will cost you big games. With all the passing QB's do today they have a greater influence over games than ever before.

Wilson was a big part of why Seattle has become a great team and reached the SB. The Seahawks defense gets most of the credit it was outstanding but that team never reaches the SB with Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst at QB.

But they could have w romo

Hey man, when you say something stupid...

I misspelled a name. It was all in good fun. What is your beef to go back three pages and point it out? I have read plenty of your asinine post and never singled you out so, what's up?

Yes, cause NO OTHER TOP NFL QB has EVER made boneheaded plays. You get what you look for whether its real or not

I don't care about other teams or their QBs. The Romo defenders use others QBs as an excuse, but I don't care what they do. I care about the Cowboys and their QB. Are you really questioning that Romo has blown games with last minute bonehead plays? You don't have to look very hard to see that it has happened and when he is facing teams with better than .500 winning %, it happens often.

if you don't care about other qb's and evaluate accordingly, then you're hardly being unbiased in your opinion, just bashing w/o overall knowledge of the subject. just a single point of view the bashers use to prop up their hate making fun of anyone who would try to use logic in the discussion.

it's very difficult to evaluate the play of any given player if you don't see what the others players in a similar position do in like situations.

but so far i see the .500 record being both garrets fault, and now romo.

the haters don't really care who they're baggin on, as long as they're baggin.

FANS never want to talk about elimination games when discussing Tony Romo.

Dallas Cowboy fans never want to talk about elimination games. The opposing team's fans can sit and talk about it for hours with a smile on their face.

never? seems like it's a highly discussed topic around these parts. the romo-bashers simply love to swim in it like a hog in mud.

Missing Dez on that throw didn't have any negative affect on Romo's completion percentage or passer rating because he hit on over 78% of his throws. His 2 turnovers didn't have any negative affect on his 106 passer rating because of his high completion percentage and tossing 2 TD's. A QB can make several big mistakes and still maintain a high passer rating.

Romo missed a throw to Austin a few weeks earlier that would have sealed the game vs the Giants. That misfire didn't have any affect on his 141.3 passer rating which was much higher than Eli's 90.7 passer rating. Just more proof it's not about passer ratings it's about avoiding bad plays in critical situations and making big plays.

What gives you that idea?

The fact he has a 1-6 elimination game record. FANS seem to think adding the 3 season finale elimination game losses along with his 3 playoff losses is just a way of making Romo's playoff record look worse.
