I’m not trying to degrade the moment right now, but could you imagine if this happened Super Bowl Sunday? Because I couldn’t. I had to change the channel from anything sports cause my mind is racing with this news.

I agree. That would have made it very hard to enjoy the Super Bowl; although it may have helped a lot of us take our minds off the tragedy for a while.

To all of us that has lost a family member this news hits us extra hard. I know what his family is going through right now and it's something I wish nobody has to experience. It's the worst kind of hurt there is.

But as others have said, as long as we remember Kobe, he will never be gone.

I agree, and this goes for police officers, doctors, teachers etc....

Kobe touched the lives of millions around the world. He was a celebrity that many people around the world were aware of. Even those who didn’t watch the NBA. There aren’t many people who have existed can make that claim. Kobe’s death is getting the attention it deserves.

He inspired people all over the world and lost his life, and his daughter, in what would've been the prime of his life.

I just got home from playing 27 holes of golf. Such terrible news. Kobe was one of the best players ever in the history of the NBA...and one of my all-time faves. Even worse to hear his 13 year old daughter, Gianna, died alongside him in this helicopter crash. So sad. Prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

I agree. Our servicemen and women are the real heroes and give their lives defending the quality of life too many of us take for granted.

It's important we never forget that, too.

RIP. As an unknown to his family, but as an empathetic person, I am mostly sad for his immediate family, especially his wife and daughters who have to live the rest of their lives without their beloved husband, father, daughter and sister.
