Sad 41 just joking around with LeBron taking his slot yesterday and now gone.. his 13 yr old daughter also with him presumed dead..crazy how life seems shorter when story's like this pop up..i took aheli ride a few years back over LV my first ever this never popped in my head but man it does now..

The terrain in that area can be pretty confusing, there's mountains all over the place and it RARELY rains so it's not green and beautiful like some people may picture Southern California. Even though Calabasas in technically in Los Angeles - it's very rural and roughly 30 miles from the actual city. A lot of celebs live in Calabasas due to how spread out and rural/private it is, so it's really not how it looks on the Kardashian show. I haven't seen the news footage but I imagine the crash happened somewhere in 'the hills' so who knows what they were showing on the news (they probably couldn't get a good shot of the area so they were showing something else).

The really sad thing is Calabasas isn't far from Thousand Oaks so they were really close to their destination when the crash happened. Source: My son takes swim lessons in Thousand Oaks

The news footage was looking uphill at smoke from the crash rising, and the crash footage someone posted showed a helicopter going down into a canyon.

His daughter was on board too? Just when the news couldn't seem to get any worse...only 13?? My eyes are tearing up as I type.
 
How big was the helicopter to fit nine people? If this is true, then perhaps this was one of the issues that caused the crash.

now, are the other daughters ok or did they perish too? Nine deaths is a lot to account for.
 
Too bad to hear. Such a polarizing sports figure. He made it hard to love him as a person but he was undeniably talented at basketball and one of the best to ever play on the court.

I believe Kobe was the pilot. I was unaware of his helicopter license as well.
