RIP Kobe Bryant ** respectful posts only! **

I was about 12 when John Wayne and Elvis died. Back to back summers, if I'm not mistaken. But, the one that hit me hard was Keith Whitley. I was about 23 years old and he was in his prime, atop The country charts. Died of alcohol poisoning. He was around 28 years old. Google him if you've never heard him. Listen to the song, Don't close your eyes.
I don’t listen to country but I’ll check him out

I like that song though

What tragic event especially with his young daughter also being killed . I was never a huge Kobe fan but I respected his game. RIP. I will pray for his family.

I've been completely numb all day. This is an absolutely awful story.

I remember when my hometown Hornets drafted him back in 1996 and was fortunate to watch his brilliance on the court for 2 decades. Wish he could've stayed in Charlotte but oh well.

I'm devastated.

Unfortunately, the pilot screwed the pooch on this one. Continued in subpar conditions without filing an instrument flight plan and flew a perfectly good helicopter into a mountain.
I thought it was reported a fire broke out in the helo?

When I found out I was shocked... nobody believed it. What a sad and tragic day... 2020 getting off to a real bad start.

rip Kobe. You will always be a legend.

Yep keeping Kobe could have potentially kept the original Hornets in Charolette instead of moving them to New Orleans.

It’s interesting seeing a celebs twitter. People who knew him in the area posting. Gosh dang...that boy was busy, and had bigger things going on. I’ve driven through that area he crashed. I take a road I like to drive my car “Snake Canyon Road” what I call it that takes me through Calabasas to beach near Santa Monica/Malibu. Tough tough terrain, those canyons a nightmare to navigate if you’re not on a horse or mule or great condition. They no doubt had a time of it getting down there.

Still hard to believe. Heart goes out to his family. Hearing different reports, someone couldn’t see the helicopter but heard the engine sputtering. Someone saying he was flying to low in bad visibility and hit mountain. A fire started in the helicopter. I guess 9 people passed away. The pilot, Kobe and his daughter. Her friend and there parents. Still 3 not identified yet. So sad.

Also hearing that the law is coming down on TMZ for breaking the story so fast. Guessing releasing info before family contacted.
