Chicken a mammal?
Sure...haven't you ever seen a brood of chicks suckle on their mama hen's teats? Get with it, man!!! (I know other characteristics also define a "Mammal", so don't anybody get too hung up on the "teats" thing)

Even if it is only half true that he missed upwards of 40 team meetings - as has been reported - that qualifies as character issues...at least to me. He's a vet who should be setting the tone for our rookies. Reading these reports of him being enabled by Jerry is quite disturbing to be honest.

What is Jerry enabling him to do?

I do agree that missing ANY meeting is an issue.

The Cowboys have very few character issue players now and they're not dependent on the ones they do have.

Gregory
RoMc if Jerry hangs on to that nightmare.
Dez
I am not sold on the RKG policy only, RKG with the right talent level makes difference .
EXamples;-
OL with Tyron and Martin
Dakota , Zeke
Def - Maliek C, Brown , Wilson ....

Dez just lets his passion get the best of him sometimes. And his overwhelming desire to have the ball thrown to him. And DBs do get away with more grabbing and pulling than they used to. Well, except for Mo. ;)

Trying to figure out how Dez has character issues. The guy stands on the sideline rooting for his team, goes in, doesn't complain about not getting the ball, yet he has character issues? Okay

Dez has a volatile and large personality, much like Michael Irvin did. Fortunately, he does not have any drug issues like Irvin did.

He still shows signs of immaturity at times, but he's improved a lot in that area.

I think he'll always be a polarizing player because of his personality even if he never does anything to show himself to be a "character risk."

I agree. I'd rather pay guys who put football first and ego second. If it's up to me, I cut Gregory and McClain today. And I'm kinda starting to feel the same way about Dez. I've always been a fan and thought he got unfairly judged, but I don't know if he'll ever fully mature. I'm proud of the guy for coming from where he did and being a decent human being, but we can't continue to be a nursery. I don't want players who require a team of babysitters to follow them around. I want mature adults who study hard and play the game the right way. Can we clone Sean Lee and Tyron Smith a dozen times?

What turned you on Dez, finally? Was it the Soup Incident? Or was it him missing the MRI for two days when he was out 3 weeks with the broken bone in his leg?

It's more just seeing the success of our team when everybody comes together with one goal. That combined with a factor of things: The fact that we've always been dependent on talent over the years that led more to personal success than team success, bad contracts, and us having to put up with players like Hardy, McClain, Gregory, Ratliff, Dez because we felt we couldn't win without those guys. Our current team is proving that concept wrong. I like how we've been smarter with giving out contracts the past few years. I don't like how we used to be so reactionary by, for example, giving out a big contract to a guy like Tyrone Crawford because we were desperate for help on the D-line and he looked like he might have some potential. We're seeing now that other guys who make a lot less have stepped up and provided just as much as him. Then we have Dez with a massive contract who hasn't put up elite WR numbers in years, who disappears for stretches, and who still seems to have maturity issues like when he couldn't snap out of not having a flag thrown last week. He's not living up to his contract right now and we've been succeeding mostly without him.

It sounds like you're disappointed with Dez' potential, which is fine. He's been injured or underwhelming since he signed it. Otherwise, though, he doesn't belong in any category that includes Rolando McClain, Gregory, or Greg Hardy. Completely different types and degrees of headaches.

You don't understand RKG if you group Dez in there.

You don't understand what a character issue is if you say Dez has one.

You should stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

Nobody remembers when Ware and Witten had to restrain him?

How about when he went onto the field with the defense to protest a call during a playoff game in 2014 but amazingly didn't get a penalty?
