I dont buy it is not on Garrett. It was his connection to Saban that brought McClain here and he convinced Jerry to sign him. With all of the hugs and slaps and smacks and chest bumps Ive seen Garrett give him, and not say a Hardy, I dont think he is being ignored here.

If this came from MIke Fisher, he is about as right as a tree on most every subject

I agree it was Garrett through his connections with Saban who brought McClain to Dallas and he was given a chance. He was suspended last season and resigned this year and now suspended again, that I don't blame Garrett for.

LOL @ all the people who are saying we should cut him....:lmao:

We should have let him go after the 2014 Green Bay playoff loss when he actually quit in that game. But so many people were defending this POS right up until now.

As bad as this is.....there are about 5 more guys that should follow him out the door. But this team has let Wil McClay take over...and this is what you get.

Ok, I think people need to calm down. This is a blow, sure. But was Ragland as a rookie going to be a significant upgrade over Hitchens, who is going into his third year? And assuming Smith does play next year, which I think is the fair assumption, this was going to be McClain's last year anyway. I was real big on Ro, and even now I want him cut. And it's not because he's a "loser" or a "bad person" anything like that. He's obviously just has some demons that make him not able to do his job. Hitchens will be a downgrade from Ro, but not by all that much.

Garrett is/was complicit. Not what I am getting at. When he or Jerry Jones are in agreement, and Jones comes out and gives him a free pass what sense does it make to blame the one who has no ultimate authority?

Fair enough.

While I'm not a fan of keeping him, he was clearly suffering from a concussion in that GB game. Never should have been cleared to return. Our medical staff has been a bit of a joke in that regard.

Bounce this Betty and nix this nipple head

He can go on the pro bass fishing tour and do part time things with uncle sabin in bammy

And everybody in the FO needs to tell Jerry to take his centrum silver, have a coke and a smile and shut the blank up while they cut Ro.

I do to a large degree. People are saying that Jerry is moving away from day-to-day. Garrett continues to champion the RKG and stephen talks about how smart they are being frugal and like what they had.

Yet McClain has always been the antithesis of any definition of RKG and players that arent on the field nor care to be arent great value.

Understand where you're coming from YR but if Mike Fisher's tweet regarding Jerry Jones needing to be convinced about releasing McClain...then it is apparent that Garrett is not at fault for the guy even being on the roster. Now, I do realize that I am giving credence to something Fisher said and that is one dumb move BUT I do think in dealing with Jerry Jones, Garrett has learned to pick his battles. Ro McClain was not a major battleground to him I don't believe while Hardy on the other hand was and drafting Elliott may have been as well...speculation on my part.

Garrett has spoke highly of McClain. He spoke highly of him when he was signed and even when he was suspended. Then spoke highly of him when he came back from suspension and was overweight.

Now we have to rely on either Anthony Hitchens or Damien Wilson at MLB. That's it.

Jerry needed to step in and look to replace the bum and then cut him when he got the 10-game suspension. But this was very much a Garrett approved guy. Just like DeMarcus Lawrence, who is serving a 4-game suspension.

That's fair, but I think the fact that people are concerned because he hasn't made progress a month before the training camp of the season he wasn't supposed to play in anyway, is unfair. The doctors think that 2017 he'll be able to play, and he wouldn't have been drafted if that wasn't a probability. The fact that Ro is a knucklehead just shines an unfair light on it.

Newsflash: Our D probably won't be top 10. Probably not top 15. Ro going off the cliff doesn't change that. Our D line is going to struggle the first month. Our secondary may well be below average, or it might not. I mean, its all up in the air on the defensive side. Anyone who acknowledged this yesterday, while thinking "at least we have Ro" was crazy.

I think Garrett is looking for players who are the RKG so does the Belicheck and the Pats but they will take a chance on players with checkered past as well because the player has the talent. However once you are given a second chance in NE you will not get another one. I have no issue giving a guy a chance but when he blows that chance I have an issue with continuing to give more chances.

You could be right. It just struck me that if he was the HC's guy then why didn't the HC say upfront that "OTAs are voluntary. Ro McClain is home with family and we understand that. There is an arrangement between Ro and the Club. He will be here for all mandatory work."? Instead, he stood in front of reporters saying he would be there in week 2 of OTAs. Then again before week 3 of OTAs.

Jerry Jones then comes out and talks about an arrangement between the player and the club.

That strikes me as Jerry cutting the guy some slack because Coaches generally want EVERYONE present for each team activity (voluntary or mandatory).

It's embarrassing! We now have three defensive players suspended.

When you have no leadership or no one really holding players/team accountable this will happen to more than a few. He obviously has no respect for the team, coaches and the NFL for that matter. Sad to see such an athletic talent whither away to weed or what ever his drug of choice is.
