It's setting a bad example if they DON'T cut him.

If I'm not mistaken I think they have to wait until after suspension.......im not sure though. I agree it's time to move on. I like Hitchens at middle LB then outside anyways. Let Hitchens hold the middle down for the year until Jaylon takes over then grab an outside LB next year in the draft

I don't see losing McClain as a big blow at all. This 280 pound out of shape stoner is not better than players down the depth chart. People seemed to see McClain for the plays he has made in the past but that is not this version of the player. I couldn't care less about the effects of him choosing Cheetos over football.

The same people griping about the second round draft pick are some of the folks nixing Ragland as only a two down player at draft time. If it was so important of a position and Ragland is so good then he should have been considered over drafting another running back and there were other rounds in the draft too. They will find more bodies who will perform better than Fatty would have and who love the game more than he.

And then, the rationalization began.

Just like our braintrust is counting on.

Next man up. Go Cowboys.

Next you will see how awesome it is how the team "battles through adversity". Never mind it was self inflicted.

he made 23 mil guaranteed with oakland, and still has a large portion of that, so he isnt hurting for money.
That is part of the problem.
Jerry told him back in 2014 he should still try to make more while he can in football.

Evidently like some other players, he cant quit weed, if that is what it was.

Take in consideration that between taxes, lack of income and an expensive addiction that money will not last.
He is poor,not broke.There is a difference.
Being broke is not having money at some point in your life.
Poor is a state of mind.No matter how much money he makes, his decision making process will result in loss of money.

I'm a super homer and i typically give players the benefit of the doubt. With that being said, I say cut this dude. This is ridiculous, he has had too many chances. Wash our hands of this garbage.

The Owner/GM/All Everything/Ego coddles players. The culture Parcells talked about needing to be changed was this. We are right back to it as he predicted.

There's one man to blame. Blaming Garrett, who has no power, or McClain, who is what he is, is pointless.

Understand where you're coming from YR but if Mike Fisher's tweet regarding Jerry Jones needing to be convinced about releasing McClain...then it is apparent that Garrett is not at fault for the guy even being on the roster. Now, I do realize that I am giving credence to something Fisher said and that is one dumb move BUT I do think in dealing with Jerry Jones, Garrett has learned to pick his battles. Ro McClain was not a major battleground to him I don't believe while Hardy on the other hand was and drafting Elliott may have been as well...speculation on my part.

I don't need to read anyone's tweets. If you think Jason Garrett has the authority to release players you're kidding yourself.

The Cowboys have had two main problems for the last two decades and they stem from the same ego. 1) The GM is incompetent and 2) The GM doesn't respect his head coach.

And so you get this kind of complete nonsense.

Most important thing at this point...

Ultimately, yes. Then you see who the next men up are.

The sad thing is it did not need to be this way.

We counted on an unreliable player becoming reliable.

And got burned. Again.

You have to cut him now.

I'd rather send the message that won't be tolerated. Maybe Gregory will take it to heart. McClain is a lost cause now.

Totally agree. I'm so sick of this happening over and over again.

Lots of folks around here said Dallas needed more guys like McClain. They were too nice and needed more guys with attitude.
