Where did this "he quit on us narrarive" come from?

Wasn't he the guy who showed up sick and was barred from the plane because he wanted to still travel and play?

I desperately want Ro back.

Yeah I never got the feeling that he quit on the team. His injuries DID get more numerous as time went on, so I wonder about his health. But never felt like he was quitting.

He is a likable guy, i'm happy for him either way. Glad he got his head on straight.

We are idiots if we lose him.

Remember Saban was Belicheck's DC when he was at Cleveland. Saban and Bill are just like JG and Saban relationship wise.

Make it happen Stephen you cheapskate!

Ro is from the warm south ..he's not going to frigid New England..Yea..i know he was at Baltimore ..but that was like his only option back then.

Clearly the only way to be successful is to pay Rolando McClain 7 million/year + because he was really dominant for 8-10 games in his NFL career.

This team is undoubtedly on Ro's short list. The fact he is visiting means it may be too late. We low-balled him and he found a better offer. The Cowboys have to act fast and I'm not sure what they will do.

If this guy takes the vet minimum in NE he's ridicolous. We gave him the best 8 games and a 2nd chance at his sorry career .

Maybe - I doubt that any team, Pats especially, have offered him any dollars without visiting with him. They likely know what the COwboy's offer is (+$500k or so ;) and they are still willing to talk, but will likely decide on whether to extend an offer based on their visit.

If they have already offered him money without visiting him in person I'd be shocked. There are still enough question marks that it warrants due diligence.

Anything above 1 million is too much IMO. He's just a risky charecter .

McClain will never survive the scrutiny and expectations on a daily basis of Belichick.

If Ro's all about the money, he'll give the 'Boys a chance to counter any offer from from NE.
If they do, he'll give NE a shot to top it.

He'll auction himself.

Still a good chance he'll be back.

All this has probably occurred behind the scenes with phone calls to his agent. The Pats have probably told the agent they are prepared to offer Ro such and such a contract and want him up for a visit to finalize things. It's probably too late.

Then they are stupid.

Not a bad landing spot for McClain. Dallas and the Pats have the right infrastructure for him.

Brinkley, Hitchens, Gachkar and possibly a rookie can/will compete for the ILB spot.

Would of liked McClain back, but I think we'll be fine.

Concussions, groins, knees, arson questions, moodiness, imbalanced psychologically, unpredictability......

You don't commit long term or big money to that.

It's a brilliant Belichick move. What are you expecting them to discover upon a visit they don't already know?

Just because he came in and performed for the Cowboys doesn't erase all the question marks of his past. I don't doubt that they see the talent, but they would be insanely stupid to offer, even in principle, money without having had an interview face to face to understand the player, his motivations, where his heart is, etc. The Pats are known for finding value, but they don't take risks without doing ALL their homework, which in this case would include a discussion face to face.

I'm not saying they won't offer a contract, just that I find it hard to believe that they would have already done so without meeting with him.
