I think he's the QB next season.

A good OL can make up for a lot of a QB's flaws. As long as the OL play is good, the next QB just has to drive the bus. Especially with weapons like Dez, Williams, Murray, Witten, Escobar, Dunbar, etc. We will most likely see if this is so with Weeden at the helm for probably the next two weeks.

None of us know how much longer Romo can play. I hope he can play for a few more years. If the OL is good and there are weapons around him, I don't see a particularly hard time finding a Qb who can be successful.

As much as I would love to see Romo play 5 more years. With a possibility of being a cripple if he keep taking hits each season like he has thus far. The thought of retirement at some point after this season should way heavy on his/wife mind.

So this season to win becomes that more important.

Romo isn't going to retire after this year.

Manning and Romo play different styles of football. Manning backs up, ball gone. Romo backs up. looks looks, spins, hops, throws while being slammed to the ground. That's not how you extend your career.

I think Dallas should look to the future and get a QB in here to learn and who can sit behind Romo so that he can take over. I seriously doubt Romo is even thinking retirement right now.

he probably isnt thinking of retirement but he takes a few more shots like he did or has been and the mind wont be the deciding factory...the BODY will be.

Romo has proven he is a great player and a top 10 QB. Somewhere on the back half of that 10 but he's really good. I'm concerned about the back and how soon and abruptly it could all end for him. It would be wise to strongly consider the his replacement to groom early in next year's draft.

I see the facts in front of me on a particular topic, make a reasoned judgement on them and try to communicate it in a realis sensible way.

To me the Cowboys being 6-2 is real. It is sensible. The realists who clamored that we would be 2-6 are not only unreal but don't make sense. I'm not telling you to become a blind homer but noticing what has been going on around the ranch was plain as day unless you were blind.

Not really. I hope he continues to play at a high level for us for years

But if his long term health is in question (not saying it is, but if)... I would hope he would retire. For him and his family's sake.

I am not sure about that. If you could go back and look at all my posts since Romo became QB, you would see that I am pretty much in Romo's corner, but for the team's sake and his, I am thinking it would be wise to not make it all about him after this season. There is alot of risk. It is not like Romo is faking this problem with his back. It is a real health issue. Does it serve him any good to expect SB performance when it could mean further injury (serious when we are talking about back injury). Oh believe me, Romo will try to give just that each and every week for as long as the Cowboys will let him.

Is it fair to the team and its fans to honor him his time when it means more of the same due to serious changes in gameplanning to protect his back. I am not saying he is finished as I do think he should finish out this year, but I am saying we should not dismiss looking at our future after this season is over.

Romo has had 2 back surgeries. You draft his back-up period. Let him develop behind Romo. If Romo goes down, you have someone ready to step in.

Ha Ha. Itll be bad enough if we lose to AZ making it 2 in a row. And if Romo isnt able to play in this upcoming game, there will be posters arguing about where he should get his cemetery plot.
