This will end up like the first pre-season game of the year. Zak for one series and then heads for the bench. Tony and butt fumble flip a two headed coin with Tony calling tails. He then sits down next to Dak and serves him a couple of corn muffins. Butt fumble hands the ball off to Morris about 35 times.

Why is everyone worried about Romo getting hurt? What is the big deal anyway? If he does get hurt he will ride in to the sunset as broke back Cowboy and still have his 20m salary with him.

Because of 3 things primarily:

He loses his trade value if he plays poorly or gets hurt again

It affects the salary cap negatively in some way, can't remember how

"Qb controversy"

I can just see that Philly Defense salivating that Romo is in. They would love to bust him up again and finally end his career. Tv ratings are going to go through the roof. Fox might want to make it a PPV Event.:lmao:

Dak should start and get 1 series.. Remember when he did not play in the final preseason game and it said it had an effect on him against the Giants?

I'm not worried for him. I'm worried for the loss of trade value.

Let's see, a mini playoff game (intensity -wise) for Philly in Philly vs a hated rival, and a completely meaningless road game for Dallas.
Several of the oline (and skill) guys out or resting much of the game.
Potentially wet 35-40 degree weather....so conditions that Dallas will not play in the rest of the year....players or weather.
Can't say I see the big upside.
Would be nice to get some reps though.

Have at it. Adds a little spice to the game, I guess!

I also do not understand the big deal here. dak is the starter it is not like romo is starting a playoff game. i also agree why worry about romo getting hurt both of his injuries were just bad luck plays for him. i look forward in watching romo play in a non stress game. just run some plays and not worry about if he looks bad or rusty.

again what trade value? His last outing was Thanksgiving vs Carolina he threw 2 ints for TD and was injured. Since then he has another injury with his back. There is no real trade value. No team is going to pick up his contract not at it's current cost. Romo more than likely will get released on a June 1st cut and allowed to pursue another team. Trade is not going to happen and if it did then playing him would at least give teams some idea of where he is physically.

Hey I've been one of those that has been saying for months that I don't think there is much trade value there. There is a chance at there being interest, though. There is zero if he gets injured.

i doubt that in my opinion. the eagle players are not going to try and hurt romo in a game that counts nothing. last game of the year and there is nothing to gain now for the eagles to hurt anyone. most of those guys just want to get out of the game healthy and enjoy the offseason.

Agreed-When he last played he had 5 tds and 7 ints in his few appearances. People act like he is 29 and coming off that 2014 statistical season. Since 2014 he's had 2 more TDs than broken bones.

I don't believe that. The Cowboys just gave Philly something to play for. They also want to end the season on a high note going into next year. The game means something for them and nothing for us.

1st play. Play action hand-off to Zeke, bomb down the sideline to butler for at touchdown. Dak: 1 for 1, 75yrds 1TD. Then sit the rest of the game.

Idk.. most NFL players respect the business side of the NFL. I don't think any of those players would intentionally injure Romo, they're not going to gently place him on the ground but I think they have enough respect for him that they'll play clean.

The first 1 1/2 games were healthy. Everybody ( I assume including you) knows that. The team was desperate and brought him back early. How, otherwise would anyone explain a collarbone breaking at the exact same place.
It got a bit ugly after he came back, no doubt. But no way he was healthy after the return.
And then to have him play 2 games in 4 days with the second being vs a team that ended up 15-1....well, that was suicide if you're not healthy yet.

I am, however, in the camp that doesn't really see the upside of playing him at Philly.
He'll be fine, but I the conditions (players he's playing with and weather in Philly) are not what would be there in the playoffs in any games.
Live reps are good, I guess.

But what the heck..
Man up , Tony. And he will.
