Romo hope or no hope?

I can respect your opinion thread starter. I have been right the door steps of this very same thought many times. But for some reason I always find myself having hope again. He's a good Qb and just has some mental breakdowns or something when the big time pressure is on.

There is hope...there's always hope.

It's those 300 yard games with multiple TD passes against average teams that gets everyone having hope again. We all wish he could have one of those magical games in Dec when our season is riding on it.

Yeah Vinny was great threw more ints yet BP never threw Vinny under the bus or berate him to the media nor did he do that with Bledsoe. What ever you may think of Wade fact is most coaches not Even BP is going to rip the QB to the media so this non sense of turning his back is pure non sense

If I'm not mistaking parcells got a Sb and a Championship game out of Vinny and Bledsoe. and Romo is more talented then these guys. If He has a good coach behind him maybe He can get some of these issues worked out. I can see what the thread starter is saying. Not very hard to udnerstand.

Blah blah blah blah. The same old thing just a different day. How many threads are we going to have to have to discuss that people think he is or isn't a choker? I mean come on I think we've covered this already and I think we know which side pretty much all the regular posters are on with this.

How many other guys are a choker on this team with their poor plays in big games? Is D-Ware and company just a bunch of Chokers cause of the two 70+ yard TD runs they allowed on back to back plays against baltimore that sank any come from behind attempt? Or does Romo simply get the blame for the defense forgetting they still had to play?

How about Patrick Crayton? I mean the guy dropped a pass against the Giants that would have given us a first down on 3rd and long and kept a drive going. He stopped running a route in the final 14 seconds of the game that would have given them the game winning TD. Is he a choker is that all Romo's fault as well?


How about Fasano from that game as well? I guess he's a choker as well since he dropped a TD pass that hit him right in the hands and forced us to settle for a field goal on that drive instead of getting a TD. That's a huge difference in the game there as well. Maybe that's all on Romo as well though.

And everyone remembers the bobbled snap by Romo in Seattle but I love how everyone conviently forgets about how Terry Glenn some how managed to fumble the ball into the endzone on one of the most bizarre looking plays of all time. I guess that was Romo's fault as well.

Perhaps we should also get rid of the O-Line who doesn't block effectively, at all, in the passing game after Thanksgiving. I mean, after all, it's all Romo anyway so what the heck do we need to bother putting that O-Line on the field for anyway? Romo is going to win or lose the game all on his own anyway.

Perhaps Ken Hamlin could learn how to fall on a fumble so that we don't give up points on a drive, instead of somehow missing the recovery when he's the only man around, allowing the Ravens to go on and score a TD on that drive.


At some point, some day, I have to believe that everyone is going to realise that the game of football always has been and always will be a team sport. No one player EVER wins a game or loses a game. There are always mistakes throughout games that if they don't happen it changes the outcome of games.

I mean the Giants game alone had 3 or 4 that I can think of that if they don't happen the way they do the game is totally changed and Romo has a playoff victory and is thought of in a totally different light. And those 3 or 4 plays that went wrong had absolutely nothing to do with him at all.

But it's much more convient to think it's one person I guess rather than the fact that this whole team seems to show up smaller in the bigger games.

"Getting in his face" wasn't what Parcells did that kept Romo's turnovers down. It was calling safer plays that didn't even give him the option of some of these bonehead throws. That's why some of us are mad at Red Jesus for not helping him more in that department.

And wow, that Rivers must be some player. He's still pushing Brees to be great even three years later in a city a thousand miles away.

Rivers pushed Brees over the hump and it's been clear sailing since. : The Cowboys need to bring someone in to push Romo over the hump.

BP magic was not working in Dallas. I like BP glad he was here my response was to the simple fact that BP did not go after Vinny and Drew as what is being suggested Wade is failing to do with Romo.

As for Simms as I stated the only reason Phil and BP would get into these knock down drags out on the sideline is because Simms never backed down from Parcells.

This staff has been with us 2 season and 2 games if they fail they will be gone but I would give any coach and his staff more than 2 years to produce.

Romo had a bad game not the end of the world nor the end of the season before running around hollering change I would rather see how the entire season plays out.

Romo has only thrown 1 more interception as a starter than Troy Aikman did after the same number of starts.

So I think Jimmy would be used to it.

The guy overcame being a Div 2 undrafted player to become a Pro Bowl QB. Heck it wasn't that long ago he was a couple of Quincy bong hits away from being cut.

You really think he needs competition to motivate him?

I agree with one of your other posts, he needs better coaching. Wade is a 'police yourself' kind of guy, and I think Romo needs more than that.

Bring in Holmgren or Shanny next year.

Most of Aikman's picks came early in his career when the Cowboys were terrible. With Romo you get the double whammy picks and fumbles and they always occur in big games.

Romo is going to be 30 at the start of next season. As I said earlier in this thread the clock is ticking on him. Another couple of seasons of turnovers and big game meltdowns and he'll end up on the pine. It will happen if the Cowboys aren't getting anywhere with him.

It's not just the number of Romo's turnovers it's the timing of them. They happen in big games and some of them are returned for scores. The QB's on that list didn't have a habit of turning the ball over in big games. Roethlisberger didn't fumble in the playoffs and SB last year.

Tony has $60M reasons why he won't be looking over his shoulder. Jerry is not going to pick a high round QB and pay two guys outrageous bucks. Plus Jerry absolutely loves that Romo is one of the most prominent faces in the game and all the attention he gets.

We're better off trying to finally build a consistent defense that doesn't unravel every December, and continuing to build the running game and Oline.

There's no reason in the world we can't win with Tony Romo - we just need to stop putting it all on his shoulders as we have the past two years.

Walsh won 1 game and was out of Dallas the following year after that there was not one single QB from Laughenberg, Wade Wilson, Berline, Peete who was brought in to challenge Troy Aikman. Your post are nothing but a bitter joke

I dont think you can say any cowboy fan at this point lacks patience...it's been a good while now since we've tasted a playoff victory.


look at this way..Yes we have to wait and see what the season brings us before people start to jump ship. No questions asked there, I'm 100% with you on that.


However this team is the best shot we have to sniffing a Playoff or sb win. This is it, it aint getting much better then this. And when you see this very same team that went 13-3 start to regress and continue to lack that winner mentality it can get a little more then frustrating.

I mean if tony fails and doesnt improve and this defense doesnt get it's crap together...We're looking at yet another year of dissapointment. The clock is ticking.
