No, he wasn't. That's a load of crap.

Where were you reading last year when he and 2 other players took their wives and girlfriends to Mexico but he was the only one who by doing so did not care?

Where have you been reading during all the speculation that his having sex causes him to lose?

Where have you been reading when people here are discussing INTs and Fumbles?

No one has said the guy doesn't have flaws. You're just so TO blind that you need to amplify him to non Saint to justify your own tired damned agenda.

Damn right :banjo:

Playing just for you. Remember your answer because you were honest. Stick with the honesty over this spin control crap. It suits you so much better.

I don't expect you to admit it or shall I say "agree"... but the "anti" pendulum has been pegged in the other guy's corner while Romo has gotten off mostly scott free up until that monumental tank job against the beagles.

Yeah. I know the other guy has more of a history... That still doesn't make it right. People do change.

They also stay the same. For two years here I would have defended the guy. Not in 2008. I tried. He lied. This team died.

Asking someone would they ask Terrell Owens or Tony Romo for a kidney is an unfair hypothetical because noone on this board knows the two gentlemen personally.

One is forced to go by what they see in the media and what the media says about them.

Also, even if Tony Romo or Terrell Owens were to turn you down for one of their kidneys, I wouldn't label them as being selfish because that is a huge risk and could extremely deadly consequences.

Out of curiosity, what did Terrell Owens lie about?

i think the question has an unfair slant too because most people will prob go to romo, even the TO apologists.

but choosing romo in this life and death situation has nothing to do w/ the fact that he regressed a lot this year, has a lot of bad interceptions/fumbles, bad decision-making, didn't lead his team the way he was expcted to lead them. choosing romo as a lifesaver doesnt shield him from the criticism he arguably, justifiably deserve. and that there's nothing wrong in pointing out that he changed for the worse. imo.

Chalk this up as my token "told you so" thread...

Perhaps it takes real media snooping to unearth some of the information we would otherwise have no idea of. I'm not sure what it is but it's starting to come out. I won't seek to get the human Romo shield all riled up. I already did that by saying I told you so. Rather, I am interested in your opinions on the current state of affairs as it relates to the cohesion and leadership that should exist in the locker room, in the meeting rooms, and on the field.

Sadly, Romo has regressed under the alleged "leadership" of Wade Phillips. Wade runs a pansy camp and pays zero attention to detail. Wade holds no one accountable for their actions. Everyone on here always says where there's smoke there's fire. Right? Well, there's plenty of smoke coming from the direction of Wade Phillips and Tony Romo.

Romo clowns in meetings? Guys (incl TO) are late left & right to team meetings? Wade has created a real smorgasbord of **** at Valley Ranch. It may take a few years just to undo the damage inflicted once he is no longer commanding this team. Who do we have at the starting QB position? Is it the class clown? Sorry. I don't need the class clown for over 60 mil. Is it a leader? That is still yet to be determined. Romo, whether he chooses to embrace it or not, has got to step up to the plate and become a leader. I would truly like to see that happened but with each passing day my faith in that possibility diminishes. Who, at the coaching level and above, does he have to serve as a mentor for him? Absolutely no one.

I guess the media is good for some things. If anything, they can leverage the one sided campaign against one player simply by reporting the "rest of the story"...

You can be a clown and still be a leader. There have been may successful NFL QB's who were clowns and very good leaders at the same time. Terry Bradshaw, Brett Favre, Kenny Stabler to name a few.

Not every great leader has to have a Troy Aikman demeanor.

Did those guys protect the ball? Did they ever take the safe throw away and live to fight another down or did they just chuck it up ala Romo?

All of those guys were leaders in their own right. Romo has yet to show that quality.. That said, I haven't lost faith but the planets have to line up perfectly if he is to take the next step under this regime.

I think we're expecting an awful lot when we're hoping that a 29 year old man will just change personalities one day and become this leader of men. That's not him.

However, if he can control his turnovers, he's an excellent QB.

Romo begins to get it and starts throwing the ball away.

His leadership potential grows.

He begins to own the huddle.

He tells his needy receivers (all of them) to just shut the **** up and get open.

It all ties together.

Stay tuned...

Have you ever seen them play? Bradshaw made some of the most bumbling plays in NFL history. How many times did the ball flip off the back of his hand as he threw. But that's a small sample of his play and he eventually became good enough to win some titles, even with the bad plays mixed in.

Favre, well, we all know about his interceptions.
