He can't play for someone else unless DAL allows it.......how is that leverage???

He is under contract for 3 more years

You probably don't understand but that means DAL dictates where he plays

If he retires then what did he win??? Nothing

DAL has already replaced him and benched him so they aren't sweating it
lol. Tony must and will be released! Simple. Jerry loves his MONEY..and won't keep a 14 million dollar back up around. Tony just needs to set tight. He doesn't need old weaseled up Jerry Jones for anything. Jerry must pay him...what a hoot. Tony just might start feeling a little pain in that funky back of his....wonder how that would affect his trade value...lol..Jerry still as to PAY HIM...Think Jerry is in control. Tony gets released whenever he wants.. gosh Mr. Jones...my back is acting up again...just let me give Micky boy a call...lol get real!!

Really.....DAL says no and makes you sit all year again

You think another team signs you next year?

Yea, I do think another team would sign Romo next year..............you do realize this is a league that is QB starved right now, the freaking Giants just signed Geno Smith, that is how desperate teams are for QBs.

So yea, Romo can sit on the bench all of 2017, collect his $ millions, play Pokémon Go, text his wife, and wait for his release next year and I guarantee you somebody is going to give him a call.

Jerry spends more on a piece of art for the Death Star

The Cowboys have over 800m in revenue........cash is not a problem

OK so QBs are so valuable but no one wants to trade for Romo or pay Romo

Do your own homework

You made the claim ergo its your homework.

You said 12 teams are interested in trading for Romo. Back that up or retract your statement. Where are these teams...and why are they in hiding?

Plus if Tony re-does his contract they can't go after his signing bonus if he retired

I just think a new deal benefits everyone...... Tony, DAL and a possible trade partner

What team wouldn't want Romo on a 3/39m deal with only 10m guaranteed and 60%(24m) in games started incentives

Pretty sure they can go after his signing bonus.

And there may be a team that wants Romo at that contract but is willing to wait until he is a free agent before they offer it to him.

I'm just saying instead of wasting his time negotiating the same deal with several teams this new deal says 'this is the minimum I will accept to keep playing'

If money is not the motivating factor just get it out of the way.....teams now know the contract......if they are still interested make an offer to DAL because they aren't going to just cut him

If no one offers anything at that low cost then Tony knows he really isn't wanted and might as well stay in Dallas or retire

Maybe just maybe Dallas should have started him for the full g dam game against Philly to showcase him to the league, but no we had to rest all starters and go in half asleep vs GB on our home turf...BIG MISTAKE!

As you know, any payback of early bonuses would be to Dallas.
Would not affect a new team.
No they wouldn't.......the new team inheirts the contract and they are the ones being deprived of services

DAL got their 3 years out of Romo that they paid for.....why would they get money back???

I was referring to the notion that if Romo retired some think Dallas would ask for part of guaranteed money paid back.

I don't think they'd ask for it.
As far as another team. I guess I dont see where theyd factor into that bonus paid out if Romo retired. And they would never trade for him if he was retiring.
All hypothetical anyway, as dallas will not trade him somewhere where he won't sign...so retirement would not be a factor.

But I agree, in a trade (no retirement) then the new team inherits the contract and Dallas is due nothing except whatever they traded for (player or draft pick).
