So you think a free throw in the first quarter is the same as one to tie a game with 1 second left is the same, and I am embarrassing myself. Gimme a break.

If they don't make the free throw in the 1st qtr, it could mean that at the end of the game, they are down 2 points and a free throw with one second left, you still lost the game. Logic dude, logic.....

Seeing that the title of the thread is Romo's road record let's examine it when the season is down to crunch time. Romo is 1-5 in season finale week 17 games and 4 of those losses came on the road. In his 4 road losses which include 3 elimination games his TD to turnover ratio was 5-9. His 6 playoff/elimination game losses all came on the road and of his 12 elimination game turnovers 11 came on the road. This isn't an attempt to hate on Romo or put all the blame on him for the Cowboys struggles late in the season so the agenda crowd can save their breath.

If you're going to talk about Romo's statistical records or what he's accomplished on the road you have to talk about how he's performed in the most critical games. It's been a tale of two Romo's during his 8 years as the starter the regular season Romo who ranks high in several all-time statistical categories and the playoff/elimination game Romo who doesn't rank high in any statistical category except for maybe turnovers.

It's not the teams road record that the thread was about.
It was TD passes thrown on the road...and you know that.

I know that but if we're going to talk about the good that Romo has accomplished on the road the bad is always going to follow read the thread. There's a good Romo and a bad Romo. Even when the experts discuss his statistical accomplishments they cover the other less shinier side of the coin with him. It's impossible to have a discussion about Romo without discussing the issues that have helped create the stigma he has.

Plenty of threads for that. This was just a semi amusing stat...trivia more or less.

I mean, that game was a home game for starters, it was many years ago, and he was playing with broken ribs and a healing lung very early in the season.

Real life dude, real life. The mathmatically they are the same but psycologically they are different, if that's the case then they should just plug the teams into a computer and see who wins.

I was talking to a sprinter, from my home town, who had the opportunity to run for a chance to go to the Olympics, he ran the 100 meter dash in the US Trials but didnt make the team. That he didnt make the team wasnt a surprise but he didnt get close to running the times he had previously ran, I asked him about it and he just told me he was overwhelmed by the situation and just couldnt relax. When he ran in early season track meets at some no name track meets he was blazing down the track but at the Olympic Trials it was different, what changed certainly not the distance.

You aren't going to find a Romo thread in the history of Cowboy boards covering just his positives. By the way sounds like you're confusing comments I just made in another thread we were discussing concerning the week #2 SF game in 2011. I made no reference to that game in this thread.

So, are you saying Romo needs to see a psychiatrist? Romo has had a fair share of comeback wins, considering the team he's playing on.

He is among the NFL leaders in that category, so not just his fair share, but way more.

The comeback wins that Romo has don't count! Please keep up...

Oh, and those stats don't count. The only stats that count against Romo are the ones he loses all by his self.

At no point does Romo run down the field after throwing a pass and catch it himself. Not once has he EVER done that.

So the thread title is a little misdirection since I am reminded so often this is a team game.

If you have to be reminded so often that this is a team game, the conclusion is that you still don't know how a game of football works. Learn the game and the reminders may go away.

How about Romo's away comp.% vs. home? How about QB rating Away vs Home? How many games has that cost us?

Anyway, lets get the season started already so we can put this all to bed.

It is a "team" game when you talk about his lack of success at leading his team in "win and in" games, playoffs, choke jobs, etc. However, it is not a team game when you talk about his positive accomplishments. Too funny.

What I find funny is everyone gets some kind of blame but you can't blame Romo at all. Whenever he goofs up, it's someone elses fault.

Completely agree. If you give him "any" blame all you hear is "You give Romo ALL the blame for our team sucking" "It's not fair" "He is the only reason we get to 8-8" etc. The emotional attachment to Romo from some fans is alarming to say the least. It's simple He is a good QB that hasn't showed up in "win and in" /Playoff games for the most part. How hard is that to comprehend and accept?

Show an example where he is never to blame in any circumstance or any game in his career.
No chance you'll find it., because no one here has ever said it.
