Romo saves the season

Again, you guys bring up the term "team sport" all the time. But this is the game I was waiting for because all of a sudden, it's not a team sport. Romo was the reason and he saved the season. Explain please.

You guys? I hardly ever say it's all romo, but fact is you are a hypocrite.

I think a realist is more pessimistic than optimistic when it comes to the Cowboys because we've been mediocre for 17 years. There are fans on here who are always pessimistic and fans who are always optimistic. A rational fan is optimistic after good games, pessimistic after bad games, and always skeptical because this team is inconsistent year after year, week after week. As crazy as it sounds, I think guys like Skip and Stephen A. have a reasonable sense of who Romo and the Cowboys are. This is a team with all the talent in the world who finds a way to fail miserably. I think true Cowboys fans have become numb to emotion over the years because of the constant roller coaster seasons we have to deal with. Let's just wait until it's said and done before saying who's right and who's wrong. We're 6-5, tied with Philly, and we close out the season against Philly, most likely for the division crown. We've all seen this movie before. Let's see how it ends. I remember during the final game against the season last year EVERYBODY was killing Romo. Even the Romo apologists with short-term memories who are defending him after a Week 12 game against a 4-6 Giants team. I'm gonna wait another five weeks before I say anything. I hope things turn out differently but I've been losing more and more faith in this team every year.

It is a team sport. There is plenty of praise to go around. Romo LED them down the field after the defense gave up yet another 4th quarter lead for the win.

Coaching- Who ever was calling the plays had the balls to actually throw the ball on 2nd and 3rd down to get a first and ice the game and ensure the Giants wouldn't get the ball back.

Defense- Despite the blown lead, they did about as much as you could ask for today. More performances like these and the Cowboys can make some noise. They weren't perfect by any means, but they did enough to get the job done. Would still like to see them make a stand at the end, but they get a pass for scoring a TD, and holding them to two FGs earlier in the game.

Offense- Wasn't pretty, but Murray looked very good and really helped Romo on a day where the weather dictated how the game was gonna be played. The WRs need to do a better job catching the ball plain and simple. Romo was solid through out the entire game, especially on the game winning drive. Was very cold and windy and I'm sure it effected everyone on offense on both teams.

Romo was put in a tough spot when the Giants tied it up late in the 4th quarter. All the haters I'm sure were hoping for Romo to throw a pick and lose the game so they could come here all bowed up and ridicule him. All the ESPN talking heads were probably already writing there Romo sucks articles. Romo has heard all the critisisim of late and the pressure on his shoulders must've been enormous yet he calmly and cooly led the team down the field in a 14 play drive for the last second field goal. That was an extremely clutch performance by Romo as well as the rest of the team. And I never saw Jerry's face once during the game. Wonderful day.

Romo looked seriously poised when that final drive started. Not saying I didn't have my doubts, but just watching him I felt confident the Cowboys would drive down the field and get a score.

I agree with most real fans, do you honestly believe there is a such thing as "Haters" if so you just showed who you really are and you have no idea what it is to be a Cowboys fan. As True Cowboys fans we hold our team accountable. You shoud try it some day. A win is a win but history is a *****. We all want this team to win but recently this team has lead us the wrong way. We all hope the tide changes but some of us are simply afraid to trust the players that exist within this team. Your Romo love is cool but this team is the " Dallas Cowboys!" I hope someday you will understand the meaning of tradition. If you are one of those peeps who is happy with the current product, then you may be part of the problem. Keep drinkin the Koolaid.

And oh, by the way Romo beat yet another team that was under .500. Woohoo. Yes a win is a win. But at least he consistently beats the less than average teams.

Just smile, relax and enjoy the win. Your stump will be much more comfortable after our next loss.

those 3rd down throws were a thing of beauty. might be romo's signature win. stans get one free week of no-hassle stanning. :D

This week marks another game where romo took care of business in a pressure situation - game is on the line with clock winding down.

And his 4th quarter rating has always ben high, but his track record in the past in this situation - having the ball and needing to score at the very end of the game - has not been great.

After last night i am feeling a little more confident about his ability to perform in pressure situation.

As to all the fans who complain about Romo - I can see their points as well. I cant ever remember a QB in all my history of watching football (almost 40 years) that makes me as nervous as he does.

I get nervous when the cowboys are backed up inside their own 10 that a bad play is coming that will allow the other team to score, I get nervous when the cowboys get inside the opponenets 10 that a bad play is coming that will take away all the work that got them down there. I get nervous on 3rd down whether its 3rd and 15 or 3rd and 2 that they wont get the first down. The only time im not nervous is 1st and 10 around midfield, or if they are playing a horrible team, or if they are up by more than 14 points - because i am always waiting for the offense to self implode and its been that way for a while.

Tony has always been a risk taking gambling style of player and i think maybe that runs off on the other guys playing around him. But for some reason with Romo at QB we have seen the offense have plenty of big plays mixed in with completely disastrous plays where the offense shoots itself in the foot and looks like something you would expect to see from a high school or small college school team.

Because that has been the norm and not the exception all these years with Romo at QB its hard not to expect the worse when you see the cowboys offense with the ball in a tight game. You know they can move the ball when they need to but you also fear in your gut that something stupid is about to happen and the cowboys are just going to serve up the game on a silver platter for the opposition to take hold of.

Im certainly not hating on Romo with this post - Im just expressing how I feel watching the game live and judging from the posts i read in the game thread its not a stretch to think other fans feel exactly the same.

But it sure was good to see them play with poise and composure there at the end last night, so that is a confidence booster. Now lets see if they can build on that.

In our losses, the defense gave up 17, 30, 51, 31 and 49 points. Let that sink in for a sec.

You really think that fans who hold Romo accountable for the mistakes hes mad really want to see the man fall just so they can come post here?

But, yea Romo and the team had a nice bounce back game... Especially the secondary..

Yeah. There are.

If you haven't seen them then you've not been here long or you're not paying attention.

We have a handful of posters that are absolutely so invested in their hatred of Romo that they can't stand for him to do anything good because it makes them wrong.

Which most people with a working brain will notice Romo makes them wrong far more than he has ever made them right but they cling to those bad mistakes and clutch them as tight as possible because they've invested so much time in their hatred of him that they can't stand for him to make them wrong.

It's comical.

It is a team game. Not a one man game.

There are times Romo gets blamed for losing a game instead of it being a team loss. There are times when Romo is given the credit for a game win instead of it being a team win.

It is a team game. Not a one man game.

Now I know some(most) in the media do not like to acknowledge that as it is not as good for ratings.

I know that some fans don't want to acknowledge it because it might not jive with an agenda being pushed.

However in the end it is still a Team Game.

Lol ***? I'm seeing more fighting over a great win here than when we lose! There is no help for some of these "fans" Just enjoy the win fellas

yeah I noticed the primary Romo haters Ufcrules and his cronies are noticeable for their absence this morning.

I thought Tony was pretty sharp and poised on that last drive converting 3, 3rd and long situations eating up the clock in the process. Guys up front did a good job of not allowing any big defensive plays by New York when they clearly had the momentum before the start of the final drive. Guys did a good job. Now back to work for the boys a lot more work to be done

I enjoyed the win. What I don't enjoy is Romo fans coming in after every win praising him saying he won the game. Then the next week, when he loses the game, it's a team sport. You guys are a comedy act, it's cute.

I agree. Romo did not single handly win the game. Plays and drives work because a unit goes out and executes Tony did his part but only way Tony can help lead the team down the field is by everyone else doing theirs. Tony did not block or run the routs, make the catch. He was given good protection, guys avoided making big mistake.
