Romo Speaks

That hit was directly to his back. I'm glad he's doing alright, but even late in the game from on the sideline he had a pained look on his face. I"ll be more comfortable to hear he practices at the next opportunity.
Yeah I think people are underrating the severity of the hit. The broadcast team made it seem like it was a typical hit but as you can see below there was some serious contortion involved.

I'll wait for tomorrow and the next day to get an accurate read on the injury. Right now, I think Romo is trying to make everyone (fans/media/himself) feel good about it. The last year has been difficult on him, I can't imagine what another injury would do to his psyche.

I understand the concern of fans, but Romo's psyche is the last thing in the world, I'm worried about. That dude guts out situations that other QBs simply crumble under. Dude is tough as nails physically and mentally.

We won't see Romo again until the opener when Dez returns.

Oh..

and by the way..

we are right back to where we were with last season..

Depending on Romo and Dez to play in order to win.

These guys are sure fragile anymore.

I would like to see DAK gotten ready more to start..

I would also like the team to cut back Dez's snaps until we know he is healthy.

This team is thin as can be at the main skill positions.

Garrett needs to be more careful.

Yeah, with the new kid looking good, Romo's not missing time unless he literally can't get back on the practice field. That hit, right on his back like that, made me wince.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Nothing about the Seattle defense was vanilla. They were stunting, blitzing, dropping linemen into zones...if you thought they were vanilla you don't know footballl. They may not have "game planned" but they definitely weren't vanilla.

ok I don't know foot ball but when out starter sits out every WEDS because of back problems - look out

but he says I am fine as long as no one hits me

and DAK is not out savior

please tell you don't think so

other wise you don't know football

Thanks for posting that video. He's fine. I'm not worried anymore. They didn't even do X-rays because he said the normal things you would feel with a back injury wasn't there. With no x-rays taken and him wanting to go back into the game I'm feeling much more relieved about the situation.

He's fine, all will be well in Cowboy nation.

ok doc until the next AWKWARD HIT

And C4 is in the cervical region....you know, upper back and shoulders...nothing to do with low back and legs
thats ok because Romo did not feel any pain in the shoulder from the hit, it was to his lower back and thats it. People here in this thread are reacting to a misunderstanding of what Romo said in his interview after last night. He described the sensation of the pain in his lower back to be "like" someone would feel as a stinger to the shoulder. That was just him trying to compare in answering a question.

here is his interview: http://www.dallascowboys.com/video/2016/08/26/tony-romo-severity-latest-back-injury?sf34389129=1

Notice how Seattle was celebrating when they saw Tony down.
Yes I saw it. I will remember it too. I hope that the Cowboys do as well.

That defense better just be damn glad that wasn't a real game and that the OL and Elliott were taken out early. They were on a pace that would have seen them worn out by the end of the 3rd Q.

He took hundreds of pounds of force directly to his torso and his back didn't go. Because the defender grabbed him mid slide, the only thing taking the defender's force was some forward motion and Romo's torso (butt to shoulder). Where the spine starts to be more mobile (below the ribcage) is where things will strain, sprain, or snap first with that type of tackle.

Worst case scenario with a tackle like that is getting Johnny Knox'd in the opposite direction.

Glad he's okay. Anyone who says Tony is fragile is full of it. It was just a bad situation. Romo's playing style, holding the ball and making things happen, creates these injuries. It is a double edged sword. In this situation, some QBs throw it away. Romo, Rodgers, Cutler, Luck all hold onto it. Those guys all land on the injury report frequently.

Is there a reason you have to shout out DAK every time? It's idiotic and irritating as hell.

I wouldn't believe anything concerning Tony's injuries.

They never say what's really happening until its so obvious that he just can't play.

That day is coming soon.

At least now we have somebody the rest of the team will rally around in DAK.

We've never had that before in the Romo Era.

Nobody has ever stepped up and lead this team like DAK since Troy Aikman.

And just in time.

You gave me Forrest Whittaker eye...congrats
