RT's We Could Realistically Acquire

Just wanted to note, Austin Jackson looked like he was going to at least become a solid starter at RT 2-3 years ago.
Injuries sort of made him meh. His durability is also a concern.

Good list, but I rather ride and die with Steele over Jackson lol
That is the dilemma I think what's going to happen is you have too start the season with what you brought in with Steel and Guyton but you need to have insurance you have to have a swing tackle that can actually be a long reliever a guy who could start if somebody's getting their **** kicked in a game and getting our quarterback killed you pull them out we can't have another Chaz Green moment...

i'm more concerned about the depth

When game plans come out they'll find ways to cover up whoever is having bad games out there i'm not that worried about it you saw the offense last year it can operate that way But what we need is depth a swing tackle with veteran experience a guy that can play both sides and he if he has to he can step in and play 3 or four games if not finish the season we need a Hoffman or a Bass type at tackle..

I mean by that is they were surprisingly great backups but they were also good spot starters..

Yea I agree with that.

I guess my point is more that one of those guys could be a good fit either as injury insurance or if Steele's game regresses even further, as much as anything.

No chance Steele sits given what we are paying him.

This is another in a long line of really dumb decisions by Jerry.
If found it interesting that they decided to flop the tackles this week and move Nate Thomas to RT. I don't think they would have done that without something in mind. Still think there is a competition going on with Nate. People bag on Nate as much as they do Steele...but I still think the kid can play...you may get the occasional hiccup of a false start...but it happens. There are games within the game..between lineman that refs don't always catch.

Steele is likely the same as he was last season...Not great but passable.
- If the LT is solid, then they can scheme around Steele's limitations.
You may be right here, but Jerry has wagered a lot of future cap on this year. Steele can't effective block speed rushers. If I know it, every NFL coach knows it. Starting Steele could get Dak put in a ball cap on the sideline for the year in any given game.

The problem is all other coaches know it, but Jerry doubled down on him. We won't make any moves here. Steele is the guy.
