Not gonna happen. I'd love it but they aren't spending high dollars on a RB.

I’d guess the best option is to draft RB1 in the 1st.

That locks in your RB1. It’s Cap friendly And you get a 5th year option.

RB2-RB3 are still scrubs though.

Would the Cowboys be willing to pay what Henry might require to join their team?

It's a question yet to be answered. We'd better resolve our OL woes first, however.

To be practical about this issue, tho, it takes time that may not be in Henry's plans.

Doesn't have to be round 1. You can find a solid starter later.

Yes. you can give him something like 2 for 12-13

This is a good year to get a guy like Barkley, Henry or Jacobs on two year deals and only spending 6-7 per year

Yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up. But they spent 10M on Pollard last year. I have to believe they are willing to go around the 10-12M range.

Not a single team in the league will be going RB in the 1st round this draft. I'm not even sure Brooks is that much better than the rest of the field. They can wait until the 4th round for a rookie RB.

Who would you want?

Henry has a ton of miles on him. When he is cooked, it’s gonna be sudden, and I don’t want to be counting on that guy when that happens. Many examples of that over the years.

For me Jacobs is the most consistent and is a few years younger. Swift is out there also, but he has green stains all over him lol.

I don’t at all get why Barkley is so highly rated. Seemed as if he missed a ton of time in NY.

Keep in mind we will be restricted to guys that Jerry and his kid have actually heard of lol.

Cowboys don't have a 4th but maybe one of the last picks in the 5th? I think the first three picks need to be anything other than RB like DT or OT C, etc. They absolutely have to get LBer and RB in FA, but I know it isn't going to happen with their longstanding philosophy and current cap situation.

Generally, I agree but I think these will be the first positions they attack with outside free agents

He is the biggest Bodyguard RB in the league, and losing 2 starters on the OL I wouldn't be shocked if Dallas over paid to obtain Henry.

Fact....we will sign a free-agent RB. This guy is at the top of my list. Pair him with a rookie ( Brooks ) and

Remember Stephen Jones said before the draft last year they were looking for a big/powerful RB.

Door creeps open for Cowboys to sign Derrick Henry thanks to Dallas radio host

Seemingly the entire NFL has kept busy shuffling its roster before the new league year. The Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, have kept a low-profile as the dawn of free agency approaches. Could the lack of activity be setting the stage for the Cowboys to take a big swing in the free agent frenzy? We wouldn't get our hopes up, but Derrick Henry to the Cowboys suddenly has wheels out of nowhere.

The speculation kicked off on Thursday after Henry purchased a home in Dallas. Henry trains in Dallas during the offseason and already had a home in the area, so this hardly meant anything in terms of Henry's free agency.

For obvious reasons, though, news of Henry's investment has crazed an already-fidgety fan base. Call it ironic timing, but Jeff Cavanaugh of 97.1 The Freak in Dallas believes Henry to the Cowboys has legitimate legs.

Cowboys Rumors: Derrick Henry to Dallas is a real possibility

Cavanaugh did some digging after a picture of Henry with a Dallas realtor after his purchase circulated on social media. Cavanaugh didn't make much of the photo, but heard from a source to "not write that off" in terms of the Cowboys signing Henry.

As real as however real it is in your imagination.

That's right, Trey Lance is our 4th round pick.

They'll get players to fill the holes, the problem is the quality of the players. We'll see if that changes this year.

Henry would be better off staying away from this circus. Unless he is just looking for a final big payday this is not a place players around the league want to come to.

Are you talking about 26 year old Josh Jacobs? Hell yeah he's probably the best choice. I just figured he was out of the Cowboys range.

What worries me about Henry is that our QB is usually in shotgun. Isn't Henry more of a downhill runner? Wouldn't he be more effective with the QB under center? That would mean they'd need more pass plays from under center.

I like Barkley, but his injury history bothers me. Whoever we get will probably be a 1 year deal anyway. They have to get someone. I don't think they are going to draft a RB on day 1 or 2. But it wouldn't totally surprise me.

He could’ve moved to 8 other states including Tennessee and his home state of Florida.
