So my original question still exists? If true, why doesn't he just quit?

Maybe he really likes coaching the Dallas Cowboys and is passionate about his work?

Maybe he's in a good position to continue to attempt to build this team in the vision that he AND JERRY imagined?

Maybe he reads every single post on CowboysZone and does it just to piss off the small circle of guys around here that jump into threads giving eachother tug jobs like groupies on a bus during a Van Halen tour?

This is of course, good and bad. Good for Jason Garrett, and bad for Jerry Jones.

Dumb article and ridiculous to even consider. Not sure of the ultimate source of the article but fundamentally, since Garrett just hired someone he supposedly has a great trust and relationship with, I would surmise Garrett could not be more involved on that side of the ball. Sounds either like amateur hour for the author or a story from happy hour with the Joneses.

Because it doesn't matter. If Garrett has no say over the offense they'll hate him. If he has 50% control over the offense they'll hate him. If he has 100% control over the offense they'll hate him. And tell us about it in post after post.

Jerry is the real issue with this franchise. I'm not sure Garrett is the right man for the job but I don't believe any coach could succeed with the way Jerry runs this team. If this is even remotely true there is absolutely no hope for this team until Jerry is out of the picture. This franchise is dysfunctional and Jerry is the source if the dysfunction.

Archer said the same thing in this article. JG out of the offensive mix all together

http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story...wboys-offensive-coaches?ex_cid=espnapi_public

How many ways can you disrespect your head coach should be the title of Archer's piece. First, Jerry declares Garrett in training to be a head coach, then in this article, be basically says Linehan's great talent is to tailor the offense to the strengths of this players, what he did in Detroit and what we did not do here, and confirms that the "red headed genius" is out of the offensive picture altogether? Who says money can't buy you happiness. Clearly, Garrett is in this for the paycheck, because after all of this in print, no self-respecting coach would remain.

This is what Jones said:

"There's a difference when you're sitting in the room and as the head coach you say, 'Wait a minute, y'all put some salt and pepper in there,' then after it's already been cooked and you're tasting it outside the room and you say, 'It might need a little salt and pepper.' It's a big difference. One you're involved in the cooking, one you're not involved. Jason was involved in the cooking last year. That was just a fact and everybody knew that or should. That won't be the case this year."

This says to me that Jason Garrett is not designing the offense but rather Linehan and Callahan are. He did not say that he had no input.

Don't you hate it when someone here interprets a story correctly?

In a couple of years JG is going to be off of this train wreck and he's going to tell everyone just how much if a mess it was. He'll be saying the same atuff all of us say now. He'll be telling the truth like Jimmy, BP, amd the rest of the guys whi know how crazt JJ is....Of course when that happens, all of the "defend JJ till we die" group in here will tell us how insane he is, and how much he needs to get over his bitterness.

Wake up folks!!!

It looks like Jason was basically directing things last year when it should have been Bill, and now Jerry is saying that Bill and Linehan will direct things before getting Jason's stamp of approval.

He's not going to be a part of the cooking process but he's the expert taste tester and if his taste buds don't like the flavor, the recipe will change.

So if the recipe Bill and Linehan whipped up turns out "good" (defined however Jason wishes), then Jason won't have been a part of the cooking process and will only be giving his thumbs up.

If the recipe is "bad" (per Jason), then Bill and Linehan have to go back to the kitchen.

Basically, the only input Jason will have will be overruling.

JG will tell us nothing because once he is fired from here, the only person who will give him a job in the NFL even as a ball boy is Jerry
