Running back candidates

I wouldn't be surprised if Forte is cut in the offseason. He's due a ton of money.

Better than giving out a first and paying a large contract to a 30 year old RB. If they decide that what we have can't do it, there are much better options out there. Chris Johnson wouldn't cost a draft pick and would come cheap. If they want to give up a draft pick, I would much rather have Christine Michaels from Seattle. Young, fast, tough runner that could be here awhile if we picked him up.

Chris Johnson was cut and no team has called him. There is a reason Peterson would require a high draft pick and a ton of money. Maybe Dez Bryant was wrong when he said everyone knows what would happen if Peterson came here. Maybe Romo was wrong when he campaigned the front office to resign Murray. Peterson is generally considered the player Murray would be if he was better in every category.
If we pick up Peterson we become the Vegas Super Bowl favorites. If we pick up Chris Johnson we are considered the same as we are today.

Would much rather have Christine Michaels than any of the options, including Johnson and Peterson. If the choice is between Johnson for a smaller contract and Peterson for a high draft pick and big contract, I would much rather have Johnson. Still give me Michaels over any option, if the Seahawks would trade him to us, which is a big if.

Christine would be 3rd on my list behind Mason and Miller.

I think all in all they would of we offered a day 2. Its at the point where if they dont move him then they completely wasted a 2nd rounder on him. In 2 more seasons he is a FA and Lynch isnt going anywhere before then

I agree that the Seahawks would move him if the right thing was offered, I just wonder if they would be willing to trade him to us. We are, perhaps, their biggest competition in the NFC and I doubt they want to strengthen us. All things being equal, I think they would much rather move him to a different team.

Yes for gambling purposes only.

But this is the real world and we are building for the long term future.

Ignoring the gamble odds is ignoring the reality of the situation. The fact that the gambling odds change with Peterson means something. If you don't believe it means anything then bet a few dollars straight up each week on teams favored to lose by the gamblers.

Gambling odds are for one purpose only - to get people to bet on games. I don't see how that has anything to do with winning football games or building teams for the future. That is 100% reality.

If you really think there is zero correlation between the gambling odds and the end results then it's not worth my time to even try. Look up which teams had the best gambling odds last season to win the Super Bowl compared to which teams were in the Super Bowl.
As far as gambling odds having anything to do with building for the future....I don't recall saying it did or does.

I like your list

Yea, going with McFadden and his 3.3 YPC is such the better move. And in case they finally realize that McFadden does indeed suck and it was not the Oakland curse, they can go with the underwear thief or the practice squad guy that had a good preseason game 200 yrs ago against guys now working at Burger King.

The Giant's front 7 is literally terrified of these numerous options.

Drama much?

If he's destined to be cut by Seattle, I would hope Dallas might consider acquiring him. His measureables are tempting, to say the least. If Synjyn Days can't cut the mustard, perhaps he'd provide a good alternative.
