Running QBs

I get this out of the way, I can't stand the RPO with a running QB. I think it's super boring to watch. But provided the talent around the QB is very good, it can succeed. But like someone else said, the sample size is too small.

You can't tell me the 2019 Ravens isn't proof that it could succeed. They went 14-2. Lamar is a better passer today, but his stats in 2019 were his best. Mainly because defenses had to sell out for the run. We're seeing it in Philly now. If Hurts isn't a threat to run, they don't have 13 wins. The Bears have changed their offensive production since they went more run heavy. They just aren't as talented.

I remember Daniel Jones' rookie debut vs. the Cowboys, in 2019, AT&T. He was at the 5 yd line, trying to score on what looked like a designed run, and Jabril Cox hit him clean and hard. Jones staggered to the sideline and was out for the night.
Not worth it.
I was sitting in the far side of the endzone corner from that play. It was brutal from stands, must have worse on TV replay.

I don't think it was Jabril Cox as the Cowboys drafted him in 2021

He actually blew out his knee in PS and missed the season and Cassel came in went 11-5 and they didn’t make the playoffs!
You're 98 percent correct....lol.
The injury was in the first quarter of the first game (I had talken Brady No. 1 overall six days earlier in Fantasy draft).

Well I knew Cassel played 16 games so….I was close! Wasn’t it against Cincy?

I thought it was against the Chiefs, but I will look it up.
It was the Chiefs. And it was way back in 2008.
Holy cow, I'm getting old (and so is Brady......, so maybe, just maybe Dallas gets it done)

Chuck, Flamma has posted a replay of this on page 3. Cox and Golston hit Jones, the game was in October 2021.
(I wrongly said it was 2019)

Oh, OK. I wasn't trying to be a know it all, I figured you maybe meant Fletcher Cox from the Eagles.

Not running QBs. Don't redefine the term.

OP post says nothing about Super Bowl ...........you redefine the thread. My point or answer to OP was all QBs are injury risk, it's the nature of the position. So-called running QBs and mobile QBs are different. Since near all QBs have some mobility, I'm guessing OP meant running QBs. What's interesting is even with their running style, we rarely see them taking a hit cost they either run out of bounds or slide. The bottom line, my point is there is nothing to support running QBs are injured more often than classic pocket QB.

Actually, I believe that was in the first half of the opening game. I could be remembering wrong, though.

in regular season its hard to game plan from week to week and these running QBs have an advantage...but come playoffs, they play tougher defenses. that neutralizes their running and if these running QBs don't learn to drop back, take a look acroos the field and make tough throws from the pocket, they won't last in the playoffs....I have never been a fan of running QBs.

Steve Young but I think the term 'running qb' is misleading. It used to be 'mobile qb' but there are really only a few running qbs. If we say which 'running qb' has won a superbowl I don't think it's happened yet.
steve Young was a prolific passer who could also run, extend plays...once he focused just on his passing he won a superbowl. believe he was an MVP that year too.
