You obviously don't understand the QB position. It is not about physical abilities.

Since when do the best athletes play QB?

Do you rotate or play more than 1 WR, DT or LB?

The QB position is different, not even a close comparison.
Oh good, insults. The QB position is not about physical abilities? Dude I’m going to go play QB in the nfl then. I do agree with one thing you said. The QB position is different. It’s the most important position on the field. To grab a guy that was drafted 3 overall for a 4th is a good gamble considering the importance of the position.

But I really want to go back to a post you made. You stated that your dislike of Lance, or as you affectionately call him Trance, is because of his 5 million dollar salary. Okay. During this offseason I have advocated against signing Dak to a contract that would make him the highest paid player in history. I said I didn’t want 55-60 million on the cap and I heard it was “market value” and salary cap be damned you have to pay market value for the player. I was called a “hater”. The most frequent argument I heard is why do I care because it’s not my money. It’s not my salary cap. Why do I care what players make? How can I say that another man doesn’t deserve to get paid? Now I can’t remember if you said this to me and I’m too lazy to look through all the posts. But I’m going to use the same argument.

If it’s true the only reason you don’t like Lance is because he’s making 5 million this season and it has nothing to do with Dak then why do you care? It’s not your money. It’s not your salary cap. How can you say the man doesn’t deserve to get paid? Why do you care what players make? Like it or not, regardless of position, it’s market value for a player drafted #3 overall to get paid 5 million in the 4th year of his rookie deal.

It has nothing to do with Jerry personal money. It has everything to do with the salary cap and how it could have been effectively used to better the team, including the 4th round pick.
You mean like Jr Fehoko? I think taking a chance at a premium position like QB is a smarter choice than the latter.

I will agree with you though that he isn't worth the 2% cap that he costs this year. He made that clear in Pre-Season.

They'd be NUTS to allow him to be in that range again. At least he only counted .4% last season.

Imagine losing your mind over the 2% of salary cap that Dallas wouldn't have used signing a FA anyways....? LOL! Waahhhh!!!

He had a lot of setbacks including Bruce Coslet not liking him. I don’t disagree I just wonder how good he could’ve been with a more stable foundation.
Quincy played much better with Parcells as the coach. Quincy was benched for Hutchison in 2002 because he sucked. Then in 2004 Parcells took over and they won 10 games and lost in the WC round. Parcells greatest coaching was with Quincy because Quincy was a career backup at best without the drug problems. With the drug problems Quincy was out of the league.

What is maddening. And I mean completely drives me insane. Jerry watched this unfold with a 2nd string QB in Quincy. He saw how a great coach managed to get a below average QB to the playoffs. Then we lucked into Romo and Dak and Jerry hires sorry coaches suck the talent out of Romo and Dak. Just think what a great coach could get out of arguably 2 top 10 QBs in the last 18 years. But no, Jerry went with Garrett and McCarthy. Completely maddening!!!!!

I still believe we haven’t found a good QB after Aikman retired but I do believe Jerry’s desire to have a puppet coach has sabotaged the franchise.

Nah. He doesn’t like “Trance” because he’s seen as a threat to the always been coddled Dak, whether he’s a viable one or not, because it gives the team at least a presentational option not to break the bank for Dak. No one cares about $5 million in salary or a lost 4th round draft pick by a “sucky” GM anyway, and no one would put so much stock in repetitively brow-beating a player who is no threat to Dak’s status.

I totally agree. I said that in an earlier post and he made it clear it had nothing to do with Dak and it had everything to do with paying him 5 million.

So GM Jethro should trade for all top 10 bust? The Niners made a mistake. After 2 years they punted. GM Jethro traded a 4th just to double check their math.

Paying a guy $5M that is never going to play is worse the paying an extra $5M a year to a guy that will play 100% of the time.

I could care less about Jerry's money. I care about the salary cap and building a complimentary football team.

Fehoko was drafted. Trance was traded. Not the same. Fehoko plays a position that rotates. Not the same.

You are worrying about $5 million basically. Money that wouldn't get spent properly anyway. Your argument seems more personal than logical given the Cowboys spending habits. They love taking risks on guys that could offer high value for their investment. A QB that they ranked in the first round coming out has far more value to them than the $5 million you are crying about.

Please explain how it is personal? I have never met Trance. I don't like stupid risks. I don't like drafted LB's with neck problems. If I don't like someone and it is personal, it is GM Jethro and the dumb decisions he makes.

In this case regardless of their name, any QB drafted who could not win the starting job in HS and only played 1 year college is a complete waste of time.

It just "seems" personal. I didn't say it was. You just seem awful upset about $5 million that isn't your money to justify your argument. Now that you say you don't like Lance for the real reasons (couldn't beat out another for starting HS QB/1 yr of college). I like that argument better quite honestly.. Not the $$ angle.

It is the same argument I have used the entire time. He is a fraud and it is a waste of money, draft capital and time.

They are not my draft picks, why does it concern you? Because I am a Cowboys fan.

I already told you. Because the NFL has a salary cap. Figure it out.

Most GM's or at least successful ones try to spend it on the ones that are actually going to play in the games.
Ok cool. I don’t believe you that you don’t have a personal vendetta against Lance. You made up a nickname for him trolling him and you’ve been against him since he came here. Even before he played in this preseason you were calling him Trance. You claim it’s not personal and it’s about the money and the draft capital. The money is a moot point as of today because we have money under the salary cap and we still didn’t sign anyone. And the draft capital you claim to be upset about well let’s look at this:

Kelvin Joseph- 2nd round pick, involved in a murder, no demeaning nickname from you
Mazi Smith- 1st round pick, completely unproductive on the field, caused a hole in the defense, no demeaning nickname from you.
Schoonmaker- 2nd round pick, unproductive, complete reach, no demeaning nickname from you
Sam Williams- 2nd round pick, complete knucklehead, a couple splash plays but not overly productive, no demeaning nickname from you
Nashon Wright- 4th rounder, completely worthless, traded this offseason, no demeaning nickname from you.
Overshown- 4th rounder, torn ACL last season, limited reps due to injury this season, injury prone and yet again no demeaning nickname from you.

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head without googling our draft picks. You claim it’s not personal but you don’t have any demeaning nicknames for any other draft bust or player that didn’t pan out. Just Trance. If you want to try to convince me it’s not personal knock yourself out. I know that in every post in every thread for months I referred to Dak as “Dak Preschoke” or Micah as “Micah Podcast “ it would be a very difficult sell that I don’t have a personal issue with them.
