I wonder if Roy would enjoy it if the coaches call out that he's been an overpaid, overrated, primadonna WR for practically all of his career.

Garrett is probably one of the more overrated coaches I've seen in my lifetime, but Roy is another one of our special little snowflakes who wants to "keep it real" as long as he's the one pointing fingers and not on the receiving end of it.

I'd have no problem if the coaches called him out if he deserved it.

But when the 'braintrust' has him running bubble screens, I know where I'm placing blame.

Accountability is for everybody, not just coaches, not just players, not just owners.

That is quite pathetic, without a doubt, but it's also very telling about the over-rated level of talent we have here.

Many of these same guys were with Bill his last year or two in Dallas (There are a few noteable exceptions to that of course) and yet even with BP here, and practices being much tougher, they were still no better than 9-7 and first round playoff losers, if they even made the playoffs.

That, alone, should tell Cowboys fans that the so called 'talent level' here is vastly over-rated.

True or not. RW11 seems to say alot of things like this.

He is a mild version of TO. He has more than once said things he should have kept in house.

Closet Diva.

That's the mind set that allows these things to continue.

Yeah I hear what you are saying.

But arent we at the point where "enough is enough"??
Fix this nonsense IN HOUSE.

Again, the only way Jones will address these things, is if he gets embarassed when it gets out in the media. If it stays in house, it will never change.

I'm so sick of this mentality. One of the reasons we are where we are. I say lay everything out there for us.

Well isn't that embarassing.

But, all that Detroit practicing hasn't helped them execute any better than our soft practices have.

I'm scared though; What would have happened had the team we fielded against the Eagles in week 17 had to actually of gone against the Lions? I hate to say it, but I think the Lions would have beat us and diverted away from their destined 0-16 season.

Or if anything, that is the only team we could have beat that week after putting it in our minds that we were ready to just lay down and die, playoff spot for our taking or not.

Bottom line though, and sad point, it's honestly a question if we could have beat the historically worst team of the NFL era by the time we were through with our season. Too boot, in a season most were picking us to go to the Super Bowl.

What does Roy have to gain by saying this? I think he is telling the truth.

Which is sad.

Just like us. He's probably hoping that if this gets out to the media, Jones will be forced to do something to change it.

Well he was saying all the right things a few days after he was traded to the Cowboys.

And ironically he was also saying them on The Mike and Mike Show...

Roy talks Cowboys practices

I guess after a few months with this team he wasn't too impressed with the Cowboys practice habits.

Yeah Jerry is off to a good start with in the Woodshed era. We have Roy, Ellis, Mben, James and Crayton (I think) all bringing up internal stuff in the media. Spencer's D&D......Yup, real changes in attitude around here.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning in the car. They had RW11 on with them at the SuperBowl. They started talking about Detroit. RW11 just blurps out...."It was a rough year for them, Detroit is better than 0-16, they practice alot harder than Dallas"..............

This comment really turned my stomach. I hate our coaches. Excuse me know while I go puke.

I heard that as well, and I also got a little sick to my stomach hearing it.

That's embarrassing.

Here's the entire inteview...

Roy on Mike and Mike

He actually says the Lions 'work harder' than Dallas on the practice field.

That's a direct shot at his fellow players if you ask me.

Gadzooks!

I think that he originally said that the difference between Lions and Cowboy practices was that there were no dropped balls at Valley Ranch.

I just find it humerous that the players don't see all the damge that talking to ESPN or blogging has done over the past few months. It would be the same in any organization - public exposure of dirty laundry / gripes always damages morale. It might have helped if dough boy had adressed the troops at the end of the season instead of running like a *****.

I wonder in what other ways we should emulate the worst team in NFL history?

Thats what I was thinking.

Maybe we do need to practice harder but Detroit isn't a very good example to use.

They are like the 72 Dolphins but opposite.

I hate to hear this but that's why I want Wade gone. Our 13-3 year under wade two seasons ago was similar to the Super Bowl we won with Switzer, we had so much talent even Barry couldn't screw it up. Two years ago we had a lot of talent but not enough to overcome bad coaching from Wade. And this year it bit us in the butt.

You can't practice light and play hard. You can't ignore the walk throughs and expect to execute properly. You can't baby men, and expect them not to play that way.

This is why I said all along that I gave Garrett a pass on this year because of they way we practiced. You can only do so much with what you are allowed to have.

The only thing that makes me raise an eyebrow about this, though, is that following Roy's first week here he was on Mike and Mike praising the tempo of practice in Dallas. I can't remember his exact phrase, but he was talking about how it was night and day -- in Dallas' favor -- in how the two teams prepared.

Of course, that's when things were going nicely for him and he was glad to be here. Suddenly we practice worse?

It wouldn't surprise me, but it makes me wonder. I mean, did we practice less hard late in the year than when he first got here? I doubt it.

Did you really think about that before you posted it?

The "mindset" of Jerry pulling the strings ALLOWS these things to happen.

Dont get it twisted.

Wade might have been the beneficiary of what his predecessor left him, but he was no Switzer last year. This was a difficult team to coach, and he got them into the best possible position to make a run before they all blew it. Your larger point might be right, but Wade did a great job coaching a team to a higher level of success than Parcels managed with the same players and a lot of difficult personalities in '07. Give the guy his due. Then make the case that he should be replaced anyway.
