Schefter: Commanders sign Fabini to 1yr contract

Except for finding and/or re-signing 4 of our 5 current starting O-line, which I think will be pretty sturdy this year.

the world knows we have OL issues.

some in here are in denial and still praise parcells for his work on the OL.

doesn't make sense to me, but why argue. yay parcells. you rule dude. way to fix that OL and give us something solid we won't need to touch for years!!!

better?

I disagree with you on Petitti. As a run blocker I thought he did a good job and he had time to develop as a pass blocker. I feel he would have been more valuable to us than Fabini. Turns out I was right, Fabini is gone without having ever done squat here.
You can't really determine that one way or the other. We'll never truly know the value of insurance that Fabini provided. Also, there's no way of knowing whether Petitti would still be here, or even if he were, whether he would make a worthwhile contribution.

And you can't say Fabini didn't do squat. No one ever appreciates insurance until something goes terribly wrong.

he knocked everyone's golden boy, Pettiti on his butt out on the street did he not?

who (other than you for the sake of the argument) dubbed him "golden boy"?
who picked petitti?

is petitti still in the league?

His father doesn't post here anymore so you can quit the Internet tough guy grandstanding.

who's praising Parcells' work on the Oline? I will give him kudos for taking a chance on Marc Colombo that looks to be a winner, and drafting McQ who has potential

that sounds horrifying. thank goodness he's gone.

LOL

Yeah, and when things go wrong insurance is often inadequate. Great point. I  to you sir.

:lmao2:

it's not grandstanding, it's the truth, someone asked if Fabini brought competition, he did

yea, we can.

what did fabini do "in play"? did we get very far in the year due to his play?

not saying he's a "bad guy" so let's not get crazy there. we're just saying he didn't do anything notable here during his time as a cowboy.

you wanna call him unused insurance, yay. but he still didn't do anything.

petitti "had potential" and is even a golden boy somewhere on this page all of a sudden.

mcquistian wasn't even set to be drafted on many boards as i understand it.

as for this "parcells is responsible for 4 of our 5 starters on the OL - whatever. if you wanna sit and believe he fixed it, go ahead. i'll just disagree and am glad we're putting effort into it this year with real picks like davis and not some detroit castoff in kosier.

sorry I was a little over the top, but asking whether Fabini brought competition was a pretty dumb question, since there were 4 OTs who were brought into camp last year, and only Petitti was let go

and Petitti is still in the league, as is Jason Fabini

and i'm sure they're out there somewhere providing valuable competition and insurance for someone.

as for "let go" - oh well. there's only so many you can keep to begin with. we'll see in a few years who's still on the line and who's been replaced and we can see how the line performs at that time. till then, hard to compare.

that's the thing, Fabini wasn't brought in here to do anything notable, yet everyone is crying like we made a mistake, we didn't w/ Fabini, not much was expected of him, same w/ Petitti, I don't rule low-risk additions who don't pan out as mistakes, as they aren't expected to do much

Well, he's the RedStinks player now, so what does it matter?

We approve of the Arizona castoff (he is a REAL pick), but not the Detroit castoff.

Hmmmm....wonder why? :lmao2:

Right. And the previous 3 years before 2006 Tony Romo didn't "do anything" either. Maybe we should have cut him. It's possible that players provide value beyond actually starting immediately. In Romo's case, he held value as a potential future starter. In Fabini's case, he held value has a potential future starter.
