They havent cut Richardson, and probably wont.

they're cutting their whole core, they are in FULL rebuild mode, tearing it down to the base, they don't want a 37 year old quarterback and Romo wouldn't want to go there either and Jerry wouldn't want to send him there....if Jerry was to trade Romo, which I highly doubt is happening, I'd call the Rams if a trade a was even possible....

Ask Romo to help us get value for him. Even a draft pick swap is preferable. If Romo won't play ball, then offer Mr. Big Bucks to Cleveland for a case of beer.

You sure never make decisions when emotional especially business ones. Jones is to emotionally involved with Romo. Needs to step away and let his son handle this situation, imo.

The Jones' and Garrett need to stop becoming friends with players. This is what happens. You feel obligated to give a friend some concession. Where is Romo's sense of obligation to Jerry and Garrett. Oh yeah, he dropped that as soon as they didn't give him the starting job back. As soon as Romo expressed his desire to not fulfill his contract, then the team's sense of obligation to Romo should have evaporated. He is now purely an asset to be used to improve the team. Letting him go early is 100% ridiculous. Lots of things can happen to jumpstart a bidding war for him. All it takes is one team to initiate trade talks and five others will be calling.

We need to remember that Jerry isn't only Jerry anymore. If it was, we would have Johnny Football to deal with instead of Prescott. Saint Stephen is hopefully guarding the release button before Jerry pushes it to see if they can get any value out of Romo before he leaves.

I know what your saying. I'm just telling you that they found out several hours later it was all bs. Let's just say Rappaport was not thrilled with this particular "source".

Furthermore, I'd go as far to say that part of Romo's do-right "unwritten understanding" is to not go to certain teams--especially Washington.

Oh ok. I don't ever like being ignorant about anything that's why I use credible sources. And I was hoping this was true.

Which is sad considering Jerrys grandson has won more championships at AT&T Stadium and Romo had to watch it. With Jerry
Interesting that you mention that, given that Tony took a lot of personal time to tudor Jerry's grandson all the way to a Texas HS Sate title and Jerry considers it one of the highlights of his entire football life, as a fan.
What grandparent wouldn't....

Another one of his favorites is Romo staggering out on the field with punctured lung and 2 broken ribs to lead Dallas over eventual 13-3 SF, on the road. He considered that epically heroic and an ultimate sacrifice.

Just saying that the bond runs deep on many levels.

I hope we get something for Tony though.

Wasn't there just a thread about how we're gonna get a boatload of high picks for romo??

Stop being so reactionary and just wait and see what happens

If we DON'T trade him it just goes to show why it has been so hard for the organization as a whole to win in recent years. The club's priorities are out of whack.

This

The club is run by a moron who wants to be the players "friend" because he knows he can't have their respect so he does things to make them "happy" instead of what is best for the team

You can make a lot of revenue this way but you can't put a consistent contender this way

The league is depending on the stupidity of our front office.

Looks like they might be right.....and the league really does hate Jerry.

The league does not hate Jerry
He brings it in himself with his ignorance and stupidity

Wouldn't this involve Romo actually having to pay back something or something like that?

No, if he reduced his salary from $14 million to $1 million, it would immediately free up $13 million in cap space. He would never do this unless he was going to be released very soon after. Once he is released, all the dead money would then hit the cap, being the same net result of saving $5.1 million. What this would do is give the team some cap room for the start of free agency to maybe sign some of their guys or go get a free agent but they would have to then free up space in order to release Romo so it's a wash in the end.

Sadly this is right. But not sure why we can't do what Philly did and take 3 QBs to camp and see what happens. They had Bradford, Wentz, and Chase Daniel. And look what happened. I know we need the cap room, but we can renegotiate existing deals.

They should, make them compete and may the best player play, that's the way it should be shouldn't it?

But that ain't happening, that decision was made in the middle of the 2016 season, for better or worse this is Dak's team and Romo needs to go or there could be locker room problems.
What happens if Tony is clearly better than Dak in practice? Who plays? Imagine that scenario... they won't let that happen.

LOL, then what's the point?

Releasing a franchise QB while numerous teams have interest is not very Dallas Cowboys friendly. Why does the team have to roll over for Romo? He is under contract and represents a valuable team asset. If he wants out, then there should be give and take on both sides. Get Romo a place he can play and get the team something in return. Why does Jerry have to capitulate to Romo to the detriment of the team? In my scenario, Romo gets to seek his new team. How is that not Romo friendly. He just has to convince a team to trade for him and if he can't, he has to sit tight and be a good Dallas Cowboy until a team is ready to deal. If Jerry stays patient, the market for Romo will materialize as teams want to get their QB in house as soon as possible.
You are talking sense.

Unfortunately Jerry Jones has other plans.
