Cowboys front office may as well just set their second round pick cards on fire.
The end result would be the same

Lol,Hendershot got some snaps and caught a pass last night for the Chiefs. I wish Andy Reid and his staff were the Cowboys coaches. Because ours don't seem to know what they are doing.
Coaching matters and the Cowboys have many poor coaches including their TE coach. I'd like to see a really good TE coach and OC work with Schoon to see if he can become a better contributor on offense. I see Schoon playing on special teams as expected. But we need him producing on offense where we clearly need lots of help.
Yeah, both bottom of the barrel players, who caresLol,
So now we’re singing the praises of the Hendershot who everyone wanted out of here in favor of a converted WR who couldn’t catch in college?
Hendershot making a few catches isn’t surprising, he’s a receiving TE whose con is being slow and not much of a blocker!
Some, yes, just not a horde of them. Most were highly disappointed.Oh no, we had some who were defending the pick and continued to defend while he couldn't get on the field or did nothing when he was on the field.

They thought they had to have a TE and then there was a run on them and they panicked and took Schoon. Did the same thing with Kelvin Joseph. Trying to squeeze in a pick for need.Schoonmaker caught all of 35 passes his senior year. 54 total, in 5 years.
Sooooo, exactly what made us think he was 2nd round worthy?
Blocking TE's are 5th rounders.Scoonmaker was supposed to be a great blocking TE who would be like a 6th lineman, him catching was just a plus
If he isn’t doing that then he needs to be cut
Well said. They thought they had to have a TE and then there was a run on them and they panicked and took Schoon. Did the same thing with Kelvin Joseph. Trying to squeeze in a pick for need.
But with Schoon we didnt actually need to take a TE. But on top of not being able to properly evaluate him we also didnt properly evaluate Ferguson who was already on the team.
True. I do get that in todays league you have to keep an eye on need much more so than before, but these clowns take it to an extreme, as well as expecting those players to all be ready to make an immediate impact when drafting late in a draft that isn’t overly deep.Well, that explains why so many of you rail on drafting for need. It's not that drafting for need is bad, it's that we draft badly.
Our last four 2nd round picks:
Marshawn Kneeland - injured
Luke Schoonmaker - dog house
Sam Williams - injured/suspended
Kelvin Joseph - out of the league
We draft horribly. When drafting for need, we do an extremely poor job of evaluating the player: Schoonmaker, Kelvin, Taco, Mazi.True. The draft is basically free agency for them, and Stephen thinks they outsmarting everyone. Hasn’t really gone that way.
It’s impossible to draft as perfectly as they seem to think they can.
I loved Schultz and still do, but he was not worth the 15 mil he was insisting on. Are you aware that we offered him 12 mil/season and he turned it down?Had you known this ordeal? You keep schultz.
Will got lucky on a few players, and everyone thought he was some draft guru genius. Will McClay is over rated. He's looking like another Jerry yes man these days.
Although cb Jordan Lewis seems to have turned out a solid career role for us.We need to take Michigan players off the board. We may miss out on a Brady or a Charles Woodson but it’s worth it.
If they kept fixated on need, and took Tucker Kraft instead (who I preferred at the position), it would have been a different outcome with much more upside attached to it.They panicked. It was a deep TE draft. As much as they count on young players they refused to count on Ferguson and needed to replace Schultz.
They passed on LaPorta (a reported finalist) for Mazi, then there was a run in the early second.
That’s what happens when you fixate on position need in a draft. I was saying for years they were getting away with that but would eventually bite them and it did.
It wasn't a need pick. We did not need a TE.If they kept fixated on need, and took Tucker Kraft instead (who I preferred at the position), it would have been a different outcome with much more upside attached to it.
You seem a small bit upset over this.We draft horribly. When drafting for need, we do an extremely poor job of evaluating the player: Schoonmaker, Kelvin, Taco, Mazi.
