Schottenheimer lost his game in the first half

He’s had some asinine decisions of late like not kicking the field goal a few weeks back.

But tonight he was forcing the run over and over - when he had the hottest hand coming in- Pickens.

Marty ball ? More like Stupidity

Throw the ball deep early and often!!!

What’s the matter with you !!! Dive left - dump off in the flats - dive right WT_!!!!

Pathetic

And that trickled down - we looked scared.

Detroit was ready to choke it away / that Crowd was restless an unsure.

Instead of being aggressive - with a potential playoff spot RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.

We played not to lose

And we got slapped around.
Schottenheimer is a stubborn mule. 20+ years coaching in the NFL, and this is all he's got? He will never get it right. Too old and stubborn. Set in his ways. The opposite of his dad. His dad knew how to use smaller but quicker and faster RBs, and he knew they could be your best weapon against opponents in both the run and pass. This current Schottenheimer doesn't understand or refuses to understand that. He likes bigger but slower RBs. What a joke. He's definitely not even close to being as good or smart as his father.

I disagree. His dad could never get over the hump. Give him a couple of years. His players love him. If you've ever played a down of football in your life, you'd know that is a very important thing. I would run the damn wall for my HS coach. Schotti gets that from these players. He can't help it if he has a crappy qb and dumb defensive coordinator with a subpar secondary.

Marty Schottenheimer's teams reached the NFL playoffs in 13 of his 21 seasons, demonstrating consistent regular-season success. Marty Schottenheimer definitely was a much better coach than his creampuff "best friends with the players" son. You can have his cream puff son. I'll take the man who at least knew how to get his teams into the playoffs and gave them a chance once there. Looks like you like rump-kissing, sweet talking, cuddling losers.

I didn't like his gameplan either. Much too conservative vs a mediocre secondary.

Then again. Offense doesnt really matter when your defense plays like that.

If he threw deep to Cee Dee early , with the good Dak version , dallas wins . But he whiffed and called a lame hesitant game

I laugh about most of the cowboys fans here on this forum.

They seem to be one of the most bi polar fan base around, with extreme highs and extreme lows.

Dak is playing lights out, and this fan base is thinking the playoffs are possible.

Dak is not going to be 100% lights out every game, and it's bound that he's going to have a bad game every once in a while, added you can't blame him 100% on all the turnovers.

Ironic thing is I'm not even a Dak fan.

Every team can have a streak per it in a couple of games or even a season.

If any fan here realistically thought that the cowboys would be WAY above .500 this year, I would say you're expectations were way to high given the new coaching staff along with the players that we had at the beginning of the season, added to everyones surprise, we traded away our best defensive player on the team right before the season started.

Even the announcers in last nights game said commented that now the cowboys are on a winning streak, everyone is talking about playoffs and Jerry is in kind of a no win situation. That said I disagree with their comment on Jerry.

The cowboys play "Jerry ball" IMO every year. "Jerry ball" is not building a great dominant team who can make a run to the super bowl, "Jerry ball" is keeping the team relevant enough during the season that his team are talked about, because Jerry just loves soap operas.

Jerry found some good players during the season surprisingly enough, but I don't think it's enough to make this a good / great team to make a run into the playoffs this year.

Any fan who has any common sense should have come to the realization of "Jerry ball" after the 2023 playoff loss AT HOME to the packers and what he did not do the following year.

Just a few days ago you said you had come around and were now recognizing he was doing a good job.

One game later and he’s a rump-kissing loser.

He botched their last drive. Time management and the decision to kick the FG while leaving them too much time. It was a FG wash in the end. I would have gone on 4th to try and get that TD. Even if it failed, time burns off and no one scores….another wash. That was playing not to lose.
This 100 %

Let me let you in on something Schottenheimer‘s head coach. He’s also in charge of the defensive scheme . Don’t put it all on the Eberflus - they game planed that debacle together.

Agree.

Shotty enabled Eber.

We all knew the scheme was jacked. And we are the fans.

Did you see the crap Schottenheimer called yesterday? Absolutely horrendous. Why didn't he have the players mentally ready to fight and win? They got totally dominated. You are happy with this type of a head coach result? Why are you defending him? You like losing? You like being a loser? What is wrong with you?

Eberflus did nothing to put pressure on Goff. No adjustments, no blitz absolute failure to respond to the reality on the field. Pressuring Goff was the only path for this team to stop them and he didn’t even try even after 4 quarters of fail. Cowboys won’t see much improvement until he is replaced.

Still a what 9% chance of making the playoffs? Not giving up but building towards next year is probably the most realistic outlook. Had their chances last night, just wasn't meant to be.

Another offensive slow start. The scripted plays are the worst. He wants so much to run but they are great at defending it. The deepball plays and run plays need to be the same formation, same line up. I've only said this for years. Watch how the rams setup 4-6 plays out of the exact same formation, then they add in motion, then they add some sort of play fake or fake handoff or trickeration.

I think Pickens injured his shoulder in the 1st Q. He wasn't the same after awkwardly rolling it with arm extended.

The lions were all over the slant and Shotty should have figured that would be the case.

The 2 tackles were abysmal last night. The Lions abused them all game.

They exploited our weaknesses better than we exploited theirs. Our weakness tackles needed help. Shotty did not give it to them.
This!!!!!......notice Campbell fed his 2 star WRs and RB all night and they made our tackles look like high schoolers.

Disagree.

Dallas lost this game because they kept giving the Lions excellent starting field position.

Ferguson also helped throw the game.
Noticed this also.......seems they were always starting near the 50-yard line
