Hell no.

He gets a mint coaching Alabama, has recruiting down to a science, and will be top 5 at worst every season. Why leave that?

A desire to reach the pinnacle of his profession. He can win 20 national championships at Alabama, that will never be the summit for a football coach.

Stephen will court Wentz on the party bus with a promise of a peek into the cheerleaders locker room.

dunno if he'd bite on that.........Kid himself on national Tv said he pretty grounded.......he is the polar opposite of JFF, but Big D is Big D

Stephen will seduce him with secret sauce or Garrett's laser ginger stare will compel him....

For him, perhaps it is. Saban has spent 8 years of his coaching life in the NFL. He's been coaching in college for 35 years. Clearly, he's not as conflicted about it, because he couldn't get out of Miami fast enough.

I don't think that anyone thinks less of guys like Bud Wilkinson, Frank Leahy, Bear Bryant, Bobby Bowden, et al because they coached only in college. They are all considered at the top of the industry.

It may be his dream job and the best situation for him but it will never be coaching at the highest level. Why did he go to the NFL in the first place?

A big pay raise. He probably liked Wayne Huizenga a lot too.

More NDSU Senior Bowl connections that just Wentz and Haeg..............goes to the South's coach Gus Bradley of the Jags
****
College career
Bradley played college football at North Dakota State University from 1984 to 1988, where he was a free safety and punter. In 1988, he helped the Bison win the NCAA Division II Football Championship. He also was a four-time academic all-North Central Conference selection.[4]

Bradley earned bachelor's degrees in business administration (1989) and physical education (1990) from North Dakota State as well as a master's degree in athletic administration from NDSU in 1992.

Coaching career
Early coaching career
Bradley joined the North Dakota State Bison as a graduate assistant coach in 1990 and was there until 1991. He was the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at Fort Lewis College from 1992 to 1995 and spent four months as the team's head coach from December 1995 to March 1996. From 1996 to 2005 Bradley returned to North Dakota State and coached in many positions including defensive coordinator, linebackers coach, and assistant head coach to Bob Babich and Craig Bohl. Under Bradley’s guidance, North Dakota State’s defense led the Great West Football Conference in scoring defense (13.7 ppg), pass defense (150.3 ypg), total defense (272.4 ypg) and turnover margin (+1.00) in 2005.

Great. Then Jerry Jones can make the same mistake twice.

He thought Quincy Carter would be the next McNabb.

Hey, that was fun. Let's pretend Prescott is like Cam Newton.

Prescott is a good player. Fared pretty good vs very tough competition. It has nothing to do with Carter. He flying under the radar a bit. He might be another Russell Wilson IMO.

I think a big part of the reason why he left is the same reason why everyone would want to be in the NFL. It's the highest level. The true greats want to compete against the best. If Saban has that desire to reach the top of his profession he can't do it at the University of Alabama. He just can't.

When we draft Wentz and he leads us to the promised land, you won't be part of it.
