Tony has taken a beating over his career; not David Carr bad, but bad.

He has had two broken collar bones, broken ribs, cracked vertebrae, ruptured disks, punctured lungs, Brittany Spears crabs and forced to have Free Reign on his iPod so please his line.

The question is at what point does all this become less important than the quality of life? He is really going to suffer as he gets older.

that would really be up to him i would think.

He's getting hit less now than in the past.

This is true. He is getting hit much less than in previous years.

The issue is, despite the drop in the # of hits he is absorbing, his injury rate is climbing. This will be there 3rd distinct injury in the past 19 games that will have resulted in him missing games.

Some of it may be bad luck, however, I can't help but to think that we are seeing a trend here.

What sucks in my mind is that along with it really hurting our chances this year it really hurts his chances for the HOF, less yards, less td's etc. we have a bunch of draft choices next year, may be able to move up in rnd 1 or 2 for a decent QB and then let him sit for 2-3 yrs.

He didn't appear to be in pain when he returned to the sideline. This current injury is unlikely to cause him any long term issues.

If he has another significant back injury, then it would be a different story.

The miracles of modern medicine. He was laughing like crazy on the sideline. Demerol, it will fix what ails ya!

Romo is playing best football of his career. Not usually a time to make that decision. I absolutely think Dallas needs to draft QB somewhere in 1st three rounds of draft next year.

I'm not into the telling people when to retire business. It's up to him.

You see, the whole point is what is he going to do? If it was me, I would think about it. You have to believe he is thinking about it.

Nah he's not going to retire. Nor should he.

There isn't much he could do about breaking a collar bone.

I do think it is a possibility that he is starting to see the end of the road, especially his reaction after getting hurt. Going back to his younger days in 2008, he's always had a tendency to get injured. He's not the biggest or strongest QB so it's tougher for him to absorb those hits. It's not really about age, it's about body type. RG3 is similar.

The only one that's really concerning is the back issues. I think that will ultimately determine when he decides to call it quits. However, he was raving about his health in the preseason, so I don't think he's worried about quality of life yet.

I'm wondering if Romo is becoming Fragile. Romo lovers chill out.. I'm saying is he taking hits that a younger QB would shake off but to him is like being shot..

Back issues are going to flare up any time he gets hit like he did against the Giants. I don't know if any QB's collarbone wouldn't have snapped in the situation. Romo ended up being in an unprotected position as he was driven into the turf.
