Should we consider switching out Parker for Quinn if Commanders sack him?

I don't know. I actually thought we put a modicum of pressure on the no name QB on Tampa. But guys were breaking wide open all over the field.

Think about it, as bad as the Eagles look so far, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, do you think we'll hold the Jaguars to 10 points midway through the 4th? With any DC? They'll probably put up 30+ on us.

I looked over the schedule. I think we win 3 to 4 more games this year.

Thats fair, but I think it depends on what we do. I agree that, as things stand, we are probably looking at a max of 4 more wins on this schedule. So, our only hope in that case is that Green Bay matches our win total because of the trade. But, that's where my idea comes in as, what's the worst that can happen? You know what I mean? Like, if it doesn't work, we're probably changing the coaching staff anyway. But if he can help Parker, then great. We solved a problem. That's kinda where my thoughts are with this idea.

Yes it is... nope.. If they wanted to retread and a student they would have done so , hes the BOSS and a coach like DQ is a bad look for the players , lose respect for CP.. I'm telling you you're WRONG!
. and it's NOT gonna happen.

Still waiting to figure out how Dan Quinn is gonna come here and he still had a job..lmao

Like he would do that like forgive and immediatly sign here..lmao..nope.

You couldn't be more wrong I don't think you understand what it means to have TWO head chefs in the name kitchen that doesn't work

That is a way the rest of the coaching staff and players would view it,

i'm telling you just stop it it's not happening anyway so this is my last reply to this thread it's not happening so that the big no and it's ridiculous..

That may be, but, and I do think the D is slowly getting better. So, there is that that it seems to slowly be getting better. I think the question is what happens in the next two weeks. If our D collapses against Green Bay and/or Philly, maybe this becomes a more feasible option if Washington lets him go. If the D keeps getting better, then this thread is moot because it's getting better. Obviously, I'd like it to be the latter option because our team should be good then.

It's moot anyway it will not happen... They handle in house If it doesn't work they'll reassess the situation after season no big change of the mate sorenson and get fired..

I'm telling you understand how it works chain of command, I'm sure rest of the staff understands and are trying to figure out what to do going forward i'm sure he knows that blitz i'm pretty sure he knows that brain fracture he's not doing it 'cause he doesn't trust most of the defense maybe want to get healthy he'll take more chances..

And if he doesn't if he continues on the same path as Matt EberBOOB and we have another season the losing record I think Jarry might do something I don't what But he fired BS and you probably have to let everyone go There is no nectar line on the team and again you have to hire a whole new staff so better all get together,..

The three bad season in a in a row will make Jerry probably have another moment and like he hired Bill parcels and it might be Tomlin type, I don't know Tomlin would keep..but bet BS as OC before CP as DC..

And why do I say that But they just did it all at work on the defensive side they already had a bunch of offensive minded coaches in a row I think they might go parcel who was a defense minded HC..

Or something crazy happens and he doesn't get BillB and buys him out of college..

Like I said it's probably not gonna happen till after the season..

I don't know what our head coach's situation is. How many years did he get? Is it fully guaranteed? That matters. In the end, you still have to have the talent to go up against the big boys. We were fine with Big Mac and Quinn. We didn't have the horses. We fielded a team that could compete, but never contend. We're like the 80s Browns, the 90s Dolphins, or even the Eagles of the late 80s early 90s.

I agree, and that's probably right that it's moot. Just kinda something I was thinking about when I thought about Quinn potentially being let go, but yeah, it probably wouldn't happen. Just kinda fun to think about. You know what I mean?

Let me clarify the second paragraph here to make my position clear. This is ASSUMING that Washington sacks Quinn. To me, our pass rush scheme isn't getting home right now as it is. Parker's specialty is secondary. So, maybe, if Quinn can develop a better pass rush scheme for us, it becomes an advantage for Parker. Especially with JPJ, imagine what he and Bland (as bad as he's been) can do if our pass rush is routinely getting home. And, if it doesn't work, oh well, we probably are changing coaches like we are on track to doing anyway. But, if it works, all of a sudden, our D should be better, which becomes good for us as the season goes on. We can't lose by trying it imo.
Just hire Tony Romo... I know you want to Jerry!!

It's disappointing that my (and only a few others) skepticism about such vivid and widespread enthusiasm for the "yeah, enough of the experienced guys, let's find the youngest defensive savant we can and give that a shot" mantra is seeming to be merited.

Gonna say it again, and I didn't care last time I got what rotten tomatoes I did, and won't this time.

One of the best NFL defensive minds of the last 25 years is within Schotty's orbit, and sure, he wasn't long for Las Vegas, and sure, he was pushed out in Seattle... but Schotty would be a fool to rule out involving Pete Carroll somehow... maybe publicly, maybe on the down low... maybe just as an unofficial advisor, maybe as an outright defensive mentor to the defense lead dog.

You can think Pete Carroll is washed just b/c he isn't considered head coach material at this point, but that's a different discussion. The man has earned his defensive mastermind reputation over the years. To be clear, not suggesting Carroll to replace, and not even suggesting Carroll to have a public role necessarily... though... yeah, if Schotty got serious about it, he'd practically have to have Carroll in the building and at practices to some degree.

No argument here about that. And again, I have nothing against Parker. I see the improvement, as slow as it is. But there are options where maybe we can have someone who can focus on pass rush. I'm curious who our dline coach is, because it's easy to attack coordinators. But who is coaching the linebackers and dline?

I’d fire Parker right now and pay out his contract to have Dan Quinn comeback

No we arent getting 2021-2023 defense…..but the defense will atleast be either average to slightly below average

Which is an improvement
I think DQ's biggest weakness will always be his DT play, but having Q and Kenny might save him from himself. Rather have Bowls

If the current trend holds, yes. Absolutely. Bring him back. I'll drive down to Dallas and join the welcoming committee...maybe.

I'm not ready to move on from CP just yet, although his defense has looked as bad as Eberflus unit. True test of character is how you respond in the rough times, let's see if CP makes the necessary adjustments.

Quinn has done more as a hc than any Cowboys HC since JJ and he has done more as a HC than Schotty since he has been the hc in DC. In other words, he is too good to be a dc in Dallas.

Not saying that hed replace CP. Maybe he can focus on the dline to allow CP to focus entirely on secondary and playcalling. Maybe that helps?

If the Commanders sack Quinn....... should we consider switching out Parker for him? Don't get me wrong, I am trying to be patient with Parker, but if we can bring back Quinn in some capacity, that might help our defence? He knew how to make our defence good.

Legit, if Washington sacks Quinn, the Cowboys may have won without playing today. If nothing else, him and Parker would make a great tag team. Quinn's specialty is dline. Parker is supposed to be good with secondary. Those two working together. We might be able to make our D much better quickly.
Absolutely. Quinn sucks as a HC, but is a competent DC.
