Sorry I expect an NFL player to stand up for himself. This is not some little kid getting picked on by another this is a grown man professional football player. I agree with Deion he needs to stand up and take care of it, you don't stand there and take that.

Right. A grown man and a professional football player. Not #949997 at the Polunsky Unit.

Latching onto ANYTHING Deion says about 'standing up' is a bonified, belly laugh.

He did stand up to it in his own way. He chided along with them. Unfortunately, they took advantage of that and would not stop.

Not every human being resorts to fist-a-cuffs over a loud-mouthed, mental midget.

and not every person is cut out for pro football. Most co workers do not get into fights yet players get into fights quite a bit during training camp with their own teammates. people here continue to act as if this is some business enviorment it is not, not even close. As for what Deion said he was a professional football player and a HOF player the belly laugh is on you, have you lived in that enviroment?

Sorry. Pass. Everyone and I mean everyone faces bullying of some type in their lives. It is part of the human condition and speaks to our nature as a highly evolved animal. How you deal with it speaks volumes about what you are capable of, or should I say best suited for. This guy is NOT, I repeat NOT suited to play in the NFL. He has already demonstrated that.

I don't want either Incognito or Martin, .. but Incognito is not a locker-room cancer.

Not one Dolphin teammate has spoken out against him.

During our interviews, teammates referred to Incognito using such terms as “smart mouth,” “inappropriate,” “crazy,” “vulgar” and “***hole.” ... Several teammates referred to his more outrageous behavior as “Richie being Richie.” One player, whom we found credible, said that Incognito was “a good player, but he is kind of a disease; he divides a locker room. . . .[Incognito] is the kind of guy who has to be the alpha male.” This player went on to say that Incognito “feels like he has to make fun of the younger players,” and “people join in with him so he doesn’t make fun of them.” Nearly all of the players with whom we spoke appeared to tolerate Incognito’s more colorful and aggressive behavior, even if they did not embrace it.

Looks like you're wrong again.

“[People have] said, ‘Would you have gone through it? Would you have allowed it?’” Irvin said. “I said, ‘Absolutely not. Are you serious?’ The only thing I can relate it to is we were coming back from a game one time, and I don’t remember the game, but we were on the airplane and Charles Haley, he was in one of those moods. He was going in hard after one of our staff members. I won’t say his name, out of privacy for him … and the guy wasn’t saying anything.

“Charles just kept going at him, and I said, ‘Hey, enough of that, man.’ He said, ‘I’m going to come back there and kick your . . .’ I said, ‘No, you’re not. No, you’re not kicking nobody’s butt. We’re on an airplane. We’re going to stop this right now. We’re not doing any of this.’ Charles said, ‘Oh, what are you going to do? You going to come up here and whoop my butt?’ I said, ‘No, I’m not going to come up there to whoop your butt, but I promise you, you’re going to come through me to whoop his. That’s it. We’re going to stop this now.’

“I was scared out of my wits. Charles is a big fella and he’s crazy, but thank God, he didn’t come out of his chair. I didn’t want to go at Charles, but by no means was Charles getting to that guy because he was wrong. He was wrong and thank God he stayed in that chair. It calmed down, but he was way out of line and off-base. You’ve got to stand up, and if I was in that room with that guy, Incognito, I promise you, I would’ve said something about that.”

Charles Haley would have been all over Martin.

Are you defending sociopathic behavior?

Bringing in a guy like Haley or Incognito is one thing. You have to understand what they are and manage it. Condoning and using the "boys will be boys" excuse as if it is to be accepted is entirely another matter.

On a team of 53 you will have guys who are like Haley and most guys know how to deal with him. This is not a matter of condoning it is a matter of reality and the world in which they live in. You either stand your ground or you will get walked over that is the reality There are many stories on many teams of guys like this again Martin showed he could not take it and no would not want players who can't. Hollywood Henderson got in to Randy White face according to Drew Person that was a big mistake as Randy decked him. This is not office enviroment and yet people want to act as if well you can't do that where I work? No kidding this is not a normal job and these are not normal conditions.

yeah the science? they are the ones who got their butts kicked growing up. Many of us had to deal with it and it does work. These are the same idiots running around saying kids should be praised for what they do and don't spank them. Now we see school shooting and suicides by youth that never happened on this scale. Maybe all the so called experts do not know what they hell they are talking about.

What a load of anti-science BS. Yes, everyone who is smart was bullied as a child. The experts in the field can show demonstrable results - that doesn't mean that every place in the nation follows their recommendations. Of course, when schools don't follow recommendations it is because some hard-headed "I know better" person spouts off about how scientists don't know nuthin' or how those idiots don't even support spanking.

BS? Please you need to guy with a phd to help you out good for you. Many of us have delt with bullies in our lives you act like today is the 1st this has happened and our way works. Just because a guy has a phd does not mean they have the solution. Much of the crap they are selling is just that. You call them experts based on what? from what I see kids are more messed up today thanks to your fricken experts

Year after year, season after season, the bullying never stopped...

"Fathead!"

"Stop smiling doofus!"

"Get out of the way! Your head blocks half of the stadium!"

The cruelty of the fans slowly ate away at his jovial, kindhearted nature. Eventually, his permanent smile became a mask hiding deep-rooted maliciousness.

"One day," he continually told to himself, "I will be the bully."

That fateful day arrived when Dallas signed Jonathan Martin and an evil twinkle could be seen in the corner of Rowdy's eye...

Dude just because most people have suffered through bullying does not make it acceptable and just because you don't agree with Martin over how he handled it doesn't make him wrong or less of a man. Get over yourself and stop throwing temper tantrums on the internet.

Yes - your personal experience dealing with bullies is applicable to everyone. What works for one person is not always what works for MOST people. What worked for you is demonstrably not what works for most. There is a terrible and damaging ignorance in focusing only on your personal experiences over what science focused on the experiences of 100's of thousands tells us.

I did not say made him less of a man only that he is not cut out for the NFL and based on comments by many other NFL players they tend to agree. Not my fault you can't understand reality of the situation and clearly shows you don't know much about what takes place in locker rooms or on teams.

Enlighten me, then. Tell what "reality" is and what occurs in NFL locker rooms. Explain to me why you think it's acceptable for grown men in the NFL to act the same way they did in high school.

You see...I do have experience because like most young men in Texas I played football in HS. I was never bullied while on the team and never saw anyone else being bullied, either. It was more like a brotherhood than anything else, really. So don't presume to know anything about me or Mr. Martin for that matter. Funny how a player that has committed his whole life to football suddenly isn't cut out for it because he tattled on someone. What a childish way to look at the world.

I don't really know how it works in the NFL, but it is definitely a workplace. At my workplace, we had an online course where we learned that bullying or getting together and isolating and ignoring another individual was grounds for termination. Zero tolerance.

In any case, we need depth on the OL, so let's grab him. He'll probably come cheap, which is all we can afford, and RHG isn't going to tolerate bullying anyway. Presumably, RKGs don't bully people.
