Last game, Norman did not follow Dez. I think that will be different this time. And I think their run blitzes will be a problem. That Cravens kid is really playing welll and is disruptive.

They very well could but then they still have Beasley to contend with and Witten. I think we will also see Dak looking a bit more to Butler and Williams. I think Cowboys OL is going to mow down some skins on the front OL and Dallas will run the ball. Skins have not shown they can with stand a real running game. The more they are forced to defend the run the more openings in the secondary that Dak can exploit. They also have to concern themselves when in one on one coverage of Dak taking off, it is hard on DB who have their backs to the QB to react back.

I do think the concern for the Cowboys will be on defense as Cousins has looked good this season and as I mentioned Kelley over the last 3 games he has been very productive. I still like our matchup vs their defense. Skins are 22nd vs the run. I think Zeke has a big day

He just seems a little insecure with his yelling into the camera and at the GM of "how do you like me now".

That was unnecessary and immature IMO.

That is what I meant by it, not that he was not playing well, or that they were not good.

He is just having fun. There is no harm in that stuff. He actually seems a nice guy and respectful player.

I hope the coaches and players are not this over confident

If we control TOP like we do and run the ball down their throat limiting there Offensive drives how can we not crush them? The Ravens only had 9 drives and they are the best defense we faced. Commanders defense doesn't scare me. We can expose Breland all game with our passing.

well I disagree. He has a complete handle on that offense and has an excellent group around him. He is having a terrific season.

Ok, come back and talk to me tomorrow about him. He has faced cupcake teams of late not the COWBOYS.

Our biggest weakness on defense is that we can't get pressure on the QB

That will be a problem against any team but Dep one that has a good QB and WR/TEs

I'm not sold on this "balanced" Commanders offense. We will see how fat rob fairs.

The Giants, Eagles, and Commanders are our toughest opponents. We lost to one team, took us overtime and coin flip to beat another, and won by 4.

All tough games.

The Commanders game will be a statement game and the real test. Hope it isn't a trap game with the short turnaround :muttley::muttley::muttley:

I understand. We can talk him tomorrow if you want. Win or Lose I bet he has a fantastic game. We just need to steal a possession somewhere and play with a lead. If we make them one dimensional tomorrow we will get home and hit him.

Win or Lose that passing game led by cousins is going to have a huge day tomorrow. Hopefully we make them kick field goals.

Not worried about Dallas' offense but they play bend-don't-break defense and the Commanders have a balanced offense, so we will likely be getting gouged and will give up yardage as well as points,,,, color me optimistic but I see the Cowboys forcing some turnovers and stealing possessions this game. Lots of pressure on Cousins this week and he will be seen after the game screaming at the Skins GM, "How did you like me last week? How did you like me last week?"

Teams pass the ball on us. We know that. It's the redzone where we are good at. We just can't have Cousins throwing 50+ bombs all day.

He has had a good season no question about it. But he is the type of QB where things can go wrong very quickly, if things don't go his way. He is easily frustrated. If we can get some turnovers and most of all a descent pass rush I think with our ball control offense we will limit the number of drives for him, we should be able to win this.

I am surprised by some of the threads about us blowing out the Skins. IMO, they are the toughest matchup for us this year. Not saying they are the best team, just the worst matchup. They have an elite CB that can shutdown Dez. They have showed that they will run blitz and pass blitz to disrupt the first two downs and get us in third and long. And when they don't blitz they have two good outside rushers in Smith and Kerrigan, one of whom gets Free one on one. To beat them on O we will need a heavy dose of screens, outside runs, and Dak scrambles. Plus, we are good to need some big plays from Beas, Twill, Butler when they blitz. On offense, they are balanced. Since the first time we played them, Kelley and the running game have emerged. Their fill in LT has played really well. And Cousins is taking better care of the ball and making big throws deep. They have very good WRs and TEs. Djax always gives us fits. And Reed is elite at moving the chains and down
The seam. Without Church and Mo, out secondary is in for a very tough test. They are going to move the ball. We just need to hold them to FGs and get a couple of turnovers for a change. I hope I'm wrong and we have an easier game, but I can easily see us losing this one to a tough division foe who matches us well.
Don't disagree with your assessment but the numbers also say we should be able to play keep away from them at will. They allow 4.6 YPC along with 3rd down conversions of around 46%. That's spells tailor made for this offense. Yes. Kirk could potentially have a field day with those weapons against our defense - I am especially concerned about the dual threat at TE (Vernon Davis is a problem along with Reed). BUT - he may rarely see the football. I think in true to form it will be close early (first half) and then we impose our will second half with those DEs sucking wind. Moreover, if Chris Baker can't go or is limited as reports suggest, that will exacerbate this situation for them even more as they will miss his beef up front against the run and his ability to bring pressure in the middle on passing downs. I see us overwhelming them physically and pulling away as the game wears on.

Boys 30 Skins 21 (with Skins scoring late garbage TD to make it look respectable)

Their pass offense worries me more than anything. Vernon Davis is 2nd in DVOA for tight ends and I think Reed is better when healthy. We have struggled to cover TE's. We can lock 1 of them down with Bryon, but that leaves the other one with a matchup issue for us. Then we have Crowder and Chris Thompson and if D-Jax gets going, we may really struggle. We cannot play Cover-4 against these guys, but we don't play that anyway. I think we need to trust Wilcox and play more Cover-3 and sprinkle in some blitzing with Lee in there. Or heavens forbid, blitz with one of the safeties. I think Lawrence is a big factor here as well. If he can beat either one of their tackles with some regularity, we can free things up and keep one of the TE's in pass pro.

Offensively, I do believe we can go after Norman. He's a good CB, I just don't think he's great. He gets beat on the deep ball and often grabs and hits the WR in the head to not get beat. If we are diligent with the officials before the game to watch out for that stuff from Norman, it can disrupt the entire game for him and now the Skins defense won't know what to do. I would also like to see what we can do at Chris Baker since he's got a gimpy knee/ankle. Cravens is basically a safety playing the MIKE and I'd like to see him try and take on Leary or Martin.

You never know with Free. Sometimes he's great, sometimes he's bad. He usually takes too much criticism here, but it's worth acknowledging that he's very inconsistent. I wouldn't mind seeing Escobar on Whitner and somehow getting Beasley or Dez on Whitner. That of course, would require a change from our typical scheme.

What I've seen from the Skins is that they'll look excellent for long stretches, but then you look up and see that they are only leading by a FG and then they lose the lead. Kind of a strange team to watch.
