Accuracy is spotty but I think the Skins won't ask him to carry them this year and try to limit his mistakes.

he seems very accurate on his deep balls, but some of those shorter passes get away from him sometimes. strange.

you said this "I never said the ball was slick either."

i never said you used it as an excuse.
Yes, you did say I used it as an excuse. You didn't say that explicitly, but you implied it with the context of the conversation.

Well, either you implied it or you're too dumb to use the English language effectively. Which is it?

when given time and he can stand tall in the pocket and wind up it is a pretty sight. He definately looks the part in these occassions and I could see why some Skin fans would be fantasing about his future. The composure is another positive for him.

I think he will be a better Qb then I thought when the Skins traded up for him in the draft. Time will tell.

It looks to me like he rifles it in too much on the shorter routes.. maybe he needs to take a little off the throw??

resorting to insults? interesting that you accuse me of not using the english language effectively, yet you said you didnt say the ball was slick, when you actually did.

irony.

btw, the slick ball comment was a general statement concerning excuses for both our teams beloved quarterbacks. at least you admit i didnt accuse you of making that excuse.

So what's the point of the comment? I didn't use "slick" as an excuse. In fact, I used it to condemn Tony.

Of course you meant using "slick" as an excuse and of course you attempted to use that post as me using the slick ball as an excuse for Romo.

And, of course, you look dumb for doing so. Move along, kiddo.

come on, ogt, there is a difference between making excuses and reality such as dropped passes and bad WR play. you know it.

Holding on kicks has nothing to do with playing the QB position. I have yet to understand the focus so many have put on the missed hold in last years game because when you get right down to it, it has nothing to do with Romo true position which is QB.

more insults. classy.

if you just admitted you were wrong about your slick ball comment, you would be better off. other than that, i can't help you.

But I wasn't wrong. I never used it as an excuse. Of course the ball was slick. It was a K-ball. But that's not an excuse.

(just to clarify again, the slick ball thing was a joke about making excuses for our QB's)

You mean making excuses for the holder. Personally I think Campbell will continue to develop into a good QB how good is anyones guess.

Are you truly this dense?

That's short-hand for "I didn't use the "slick ball" line as an excuse."

Seriously, this is the English language where not every thought is explicitly relayed among human beings. Welcome. It's good to have you join us.

And by us, I mean the human beings that use the English language. Sorry if I didn't spell it out explicitly. And by "it" I mean the notion that we're human beings using the English language.

I don't think Campbell's a total bust.

I think he has the potential to be - at least by my interpretation - what Bill Parcells termed a bus driver.

Campbell can be good enough to keep the bus headed in the right direction, but he's going to need a very group of players around him. His delivery reminds me of Byron Leftwich, so he'll need above-average pass protection to have a chance.

I don't think Campbell will ever be a star, but the Commanders won 3 SBs without a star QB. I'd imagine that his previous QBs were probably what Gibbs envisioned when he traded to get him.

Romo is a cool customer and it is easy to see he enjoys playing this game and has fun doing it. He does not seem to let outside pressure bother him and knows how to play this game. I think the sky is the limit for Romo.

No matter what you think of Campbell - good or bad..... its what his teammates think of him.... can he deliver? I dont think they think he is the right man for the job

Good post.

Let me clarify one point. I never said Campbell didn't have skill. He does. He just struggles with the mental part of playing the position. He's not dumb by any stretch but he didn't adapt quickly to playing the position as he moved from high school to college. That's not a slam on him, that's just the way his career has gone.

I would suspect being thrown into the Al Saunders system, which all QBs describe as the most complex they have run, has been a big adjustment for him. I'm sure the Skins' coaching staff have pared the playbook down to make him more comfortable as the starter.
