The Skins signed SS Adam Archuleta early Monday morning. SS Clark will not be resigned. Cap hell is heating up DC - 90 degrees today. :D

Press conferences at Commander Park today:

2pm-Randle El

3pm-Archuleta

4pm-Lloyd

Cap hell? When will the Skins ever witness this cap hell you talk about? Every single year there's rumored to be in cap hell but it "NEVER" happens.

The problem is your coaching up to last year stunk. And there's no guarantee that your high payroll coaching staff will be able to make it work next year...

But then that's why they play the games... We'll see.

i would send you a prize if i knew where to send it. ;)

while theres not gurantee it will work, a HOF coach with a staff like he has + a blank check is something i wont bet against.

If that's all you want, I'm sorry. The Cowboys are about winning super bowls. There is a model for doing that in the salary cap era. The Cowboys are going about building their team that way. The Skins are doing it the way that has ALWAYS failed. Without exception - ALWAYS.

a. The cap hell scenario was always contingent on no CBA extension. The CBA was extended, hence no cap hell. It was all spelled out before the CBA was extended.

b. Try looking at the actual players they got instead of just creaming over the "name". If you study up on Lloyd a bit, you'll be quite surprised. Same for Archuletta. Randle El is a glorified PR, who was supposed to step up his game and break out last year, when Plax left Pitt. Guess what? He had his worst year as a pro. Color me woefully unimpressed at the paper tiger the skins are putting together.

Is that all I want? No, but it's a good start isn't it. Better than us. Take off the rose colored glasses.

Instead of looking at the individual player, try looking at the offseason as a whole. They are not superstars individually, but in the team concept, they will really help fill areas of need the skins have. In other words, they are filling areas of need. Ferguson is next on their radar.

Being a diehard Cowboys fan is one thing, but refusing to see reality is another.

I think they care less about our Superbowl wins in the ninties than we care about theirs in the eighties and ninties. The goal is to improve now. They got even with us, passed us up, and are now attempting to pull away. We..... well.....we sit and watch them go by I guess.

So why are you betting against Dallas?

Dallas has a HOF coach, a great staff and a blank check also.....and their check won't bounce.

Or maybe teams don't throw at him too often...Darrell Green never had many INTS

It was the Rams. Quite a few teams threw at everyone on the Rams. Seriously, I have followed the kid since college. I thought he was going to be a good player. Never really panned out. That may be the Rams' fault. We'll see what he does in DC.

I suppose we won't know whether it will bounce or not until one is actually written, huh?:(

They beat us twice, and made a playoff run. Sounds like it's starting to work to me. And, they are currently improving in other areas. I don't like it either, but why deny it. They have passed us and are now attempting to leave us safely behind.

C'mon, I'm the most pessimistic guy on this board (I thought) and even I don't believe or concede that- they could just as easily be 10-6 as 6-10 next year, same as Dallas. It's a crap shoot league with mostly crap results.

You still don't get that this has never worked, do you? Have I said NEVER, enough, yet? NEVER. NEVER. NEVER. Not ever.

How much do you actually know about these players? Be honest. Aside from Lloyd's circus grabs that get play from ESPN, how much have you really seen of him? Are you aware that he is among the worst in the league in terms of catch percentage? That he drops more balls that 50-50 Rod Gardner - who couldn't catch on with the Skins? Are you aware that Archuletta is about equal to Keith Davis in coverage? That the Rams didn't even want to retain him, even though their defense is dreadful - he is a bust of a pick.

I think they care less about our Superbowl wins in the ninties than we care about theirs in the eighties and ninties. The goal is to improve now. They got even with us, passed us up, and are now attempting to pull away. We..... well.....we sit and watch them go by I guess.

And you still don't understand that this has never worked. My skepticism is justified by history. Your envy has no justification, as this model for building a team has never found success.

I was reading something about how injuries plus Lovie Smith leaving had something to do with his play falling off. Apparently Lovie wanted him in Chicago too...

I don't know. I always thought he was decent, but I haven't followed him much lately...

Exactly....let's remember the Commanders were below .500 at midseason and made a run with a soft schedule and a couple lucky wins. Now they think they are world beaters.

It will be fun to watch them crash and burn....again.

Is it being pessimistic or is it reality. It's true that any team can go from 10-6 to 6-10 the following year, but that why you go out in free agecny and make an attempt to get better and not slip back.

The only reason we fault the Skins for that is because we wish it was us. Not the particular signings, but we wish it was us who was out their trying to get better.

At this point, I think we have a better chance at being 7-9 than the Skins have at going 6-10.

I think injuries have really affected his play as of late.

That said, he is much better along the line than in coverage. But I do think his skills are deteroriating and that he's on the downside of his career.

But as you've pointed out, we'll soon see . . . .

That's a good point, WG. Maybe it was Lovie Smith leaving.

Maybe......just maybe.......it's in the process of working as we speak. I hope not, but I could easily see the Skins winning this division if the season started today.

Not to be rude, but people like you wish that. The rest realize that we're 3 days into free agency. There are still alot of quality players out there, including a certain game-changer, who I don't want to talk about. Do you honestly believe the Cowboys have no plan? That they're sitting around with their thumbs in their butts at Valley Ranch? You wish it was us signing all these "names", who are actually very mediocre players to huge contracts, because you haven't come to the grips with the fact that that particular method of operations does not work. Never has, and until proven otherwise, never will. Enjoy the Skins signings....the gloating that will be available when their huge expectations crash and burn - again - will be worth the price of admission.

Again, the shleves of the free agent market become more sparse every hour. It's nice to be patient, but soon you will find that patience leaves you with next to nothing to choose from.

If you are talking about TO, I don't want the team wrecker. I don't consider that a good thing. But for the sake of arguement, do you think this is the grand plan? What if the Eagles trade TO to the Chiefs tomorrow for a conditional sixth round pick, and the Chiefs immediately restructure his deal? Then what about the grand plan? Do you think the Eagles even want to take the chance that TO will end up in their division? You cannot plan your entire free agency approach on a player that you don't even know will ever be available. If the Cowboys are doing that, they are not as smart as we had previously thought.
