  • Age gets to us all.
  • He takes the media and fan criticism hard. He likes to be the spotlight and look good. He knows what’s being said now. He even has assistants who gather the buzz for him.
  • Frustration realizing he is going to die never having got the team back to the SB after those 90’s glory days.
  • Probably just out of ideas and growth, especially since it’s a family business. And realizes this. Or worse, doesn’t realize it.
  • The end is near. And he’s not going out on top.
All this and refuses to give control to someone else or go after players to make this team better

Because his MO is exposed by not just the haters, but by ALL fans and especially the national media. They all question his way of doing things and bring up the almost three decades of failure on his part. No where to hide anymore. No one except for the usual suspects here on CZ believe in him anymore.

I've been watching Jerry for 30 years, he manages through the media. He embarrassed himself this year resetting the cap.

He's got 80M to spend in FA, of course he's smiling, he's going on a shopping spree. This is why Micah Parsons is talking SB
Where are you seeing we have that much money to spend? Last year we had next to nothing

No doubt, but between apparent narcissism and what I would guess to be dementia, he seems different, and not in a good way.
Good post
I been saying the same thing......we have never seen this level of hostile and unpredictable behavior from Jerry. What's interesting it's almost as if Stephen has dissappeared at times.

God knows I'm saying this has happen but what if doctors have told him and/or the family he's showing early signs of alzheimer.

If this is the case and was the plan all along

then he really should have extended McCarthy prior to the off season...even if it was only 1 additional year

A narcissist’s sense of entitlement combined with their lack of empathy makes them ripe for taking advantage of people for their own benefit. This is one reason people with narcissistic personality disorder can be terrible to work for, says Newman. If you have a narcissistic boss, they may work you into the ground without giving you the respect or compensation you deserve. It can be true with friendships, too. Many of us can say we’ve had a fair-weather pal who always seems too busy with their own fabulous life to spend time with you

Narcissism is extreme self-involvement to the degree that it makes a person ignore the needs of those around them. While everyone may show occasional narcissistic behavior, true narcissists frequently disregard others or their feelings. They also do not understand the effect that their behavior has on other people

Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as cocky, manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding.

I can list thousands more examples if you wish......
Excellent post Red........this is my younger brother to a T

maybe it's possible he has some mental or physical issues that are surfacing.
This is what I believe........I am 100% confident his family ( siblings ) are seeing the same issues we are but it's fragile, especially with Jerry as majority owner. Notice he remind everyone last week he bought an occupation. In other words, this is MY show. Imagine being a son or daughter with strong objections to how he's running things.......cut your a____ out the will (lol).

I hate to say it this makes it even more dangerous for him to control the final decisions.....

He will do something out of spite just because everyone else knows and is telling him to do it the other way.
That is what 2024 kind of feels like. Anytime someone in the media or a group of fans was begging for one thing, he'd do the exact opposite.

I just heard SAS say he doesn't think Jerry is doing well mentally, soon as it comes out that there may be something wrong, SAS will be the first to say I told you lol

I heard that as well, and this is one area, especially since SAS and Jerry are friends, where I think SAS is right.

I had a friend of mine mention the same thing. Either he is scheming something or maybe it's possible he has some mental or physical issues that are surfacing.

I'm guessing mental based on what SAS has said and with the way I've noticed his attitude shifting.

I'm wondering that and/or if they've told him he's got dementia. What if Stephen is already in control? What if this season was the first season where Stephen was in control? Maybe that's why Jerry's been even more hostile? SAS was saying how someone in his family needs to step up with the clear mental decline from Jerry. What if, behind closed doors, they already have taken measures to reduce Jerry's control? That would make someone like him very hostile.

Something feels.... different about Jerry. I can't quite tell what it is. I know he's a narcissist and all, but he just feels a bit off. Like, previously, he would just annoy me with his decision making, but he was at least funny. He at least kept an appearance that he was trying to win. As aggravating as the losing had been, there was still some entertainment from the team and from him. When I could understand his Jerryisms, there was usually a nugget of wisdom or what he said was quite funny. Now, since the Green Bay loss, something feels.... different.

The way he approached the offseason. The way he talked at the tc press conference. The way he approached the Dak and CeeDee deals. The way he's treated Mike, and the way he is currently treating Mike when it came to the Chicago situation. The entire season and the way he is still behaving feels a bit more akin to when he rage traded Amari Cooper. I can seldom understand what he says/his Jerryisms anymore, and, even when I can, they just seem much more rage induced or petty. Quite plainly, he seems meaner and angrier than normal.

Has anyone else noticed this?
I think he is just an old drunk. Mentally slower but quadrupling down on the arrogance. He knows fans hate him and now he hates us back. He knows his time is short but he has billions so he can say and do what he wants. These are dark days for fans.

Exactly......Remember earlier this season, he snapped at a reporter, saying he had been doing this sh__ for over 30 years ( not exact words but ). When I read that, I first thought that it sounded like something said to the family trying to convince him of something he disagrees with.

.we have never seen this level of hostile and unpredictable behavior from Jerry.
Hostile? Yes. We have seen it. I would argue most observers did not perceive it for themselves.

Some folks have attributed age as the factor but did not assign age until Jerry Jones began looking frail in their eyes. That is why so many continue emphasizing 'Jerry is in his 80s. That's the cause'. Fine.

Here's a link:

Thread 'Jerry Jones. The Inflexible GM. In His Own Words'
https://cowboyszone.com/threads/jerry-jones-the-inflexible-gm-in-his-own-words.525650/

I created it last July. Watch the first 68 seconds of the video when Tim MacMahon was actually doing the media's job and grilling Jones for his performance as GM--when Jones was 70 years old.

Yes. Generally, old people have the tendency of being agitated more easily. Yet, old people do not get agitated simply through the act of being spoken too. That is a myth.

There is causation creating reaction. More people would account for it if they had chosen to watch the man more closely before he looked 'old' in their eyes.

I have another post in mind concerning Jones' 'sudden unpredictable behavior' but I have been way too longwinded already about the topic of age, lol. :)
