but I don't think this would have gotten done if they had not produced such a messy sequel.

You didn't like the "weak" Electro character.. You didn't like that stupid mechanical Rhino... Lol

Still, hopeful for what this is going to end up like. I wonder how they're going to make this work since the rumor is Garfield will be out as Parker for reasons similar to why they got rid of McGuire.

I think they can "weave" (pun intended) Spidey in there nicely. Garfield look like a zit faced junky. Horrible casting.

I am partial to the hulk in some ways. I think it can be done correctly. As a lead. They just haven't done it right.
His roots, his powers ultimately (oh, I am partial to the tv series story) are a result of love, loss, wife, death, failure, conflict etc.
To this day, Bill Bixby remains the consummate Bruce Banner.

Also to this day, the TV series (along with its hauntingly beautiful piano theme) does the best job (far better than the movies) of portraying the loneliness and struggle of a man cursed with a life where he cannot have a home, settle down, make friends, etc.

I don't think they're going to reboot for a third time, but apparently Andrew Garfield is out as Spiderman. Too bad as I thought he did a fine job with what he had to work with.
Agreed.
My biggest problems with the 'Amazing' films was with the direction and storytelling of Marc Webb.
Webb was definitely all over the place driving each movie's plot. The thing I really disliked was the overemphasis on shaping the hero as a victim of tragedy. You kill Uncle Ben. That tragedy integral to the character's story. You add Captain Stacy's death in the original reboot. Great. The hero is literally reeling from loved ones dying despite his amazing abilities to prevent their deaths. Now readers of Spider-Man titles knew Stacy's death would eventually happen but was it necessary to put it on film so soon? Couldn't it have waited until the third sequel at least? The guy should be a total emotional wreck at the pace the first two movies unfolded.
With this news, I hope that we'll now be able to see Spiderman in Captain America: Civil War. I think that was the big push to get this deal done now.
It would be outstanding if Cap and Webhead shared a few scenes together.

I agree with that summary assessment of the actor and character in the television series. Why the monster got shafted so badly is a mystery. Even the modest special effects technology and budgets of late 70's/early 80's television could have properly showcased Hulk alongside Banner. The shortcoming had zero bearing on Lou Ferrigno's performance in my opinion. He was perfectly casted.

The central problem was transferring special effects developed for The Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman onto the visual platform of the Hulk series. That was an awful lack of applied imagination on the part of the show's producers. Wonder Woman suffered the same copycat imagination deficit but to a lesser degree. Then again, that show had Lynda Carter. nuff said. :)

My biggest dislike was that whole thing involving Peter's parents. Way too much focus on characters who never really mattered much and too many forced storylines trying to make them matter. A very poor choice of focus in my opinion which just added to run times and convoluted storylines.

And if you check the deleted scenes, the clown even wanted to have the father end up alive!

Too bad Marvel could not say, hey we Resigned Tobey, we are starting from Spiderman 2, the other 3 do not exist.

I'm hearing that Marvel wants to go younger with the character, back to more high school age.

There is very little I liked about them. I hated the Garfield casting but the weird DiCaprio look-alike playing Osbourne and Jamie Foxx topped the cake. The storylines were bad - if you consider what they did in 2 a storyline.

The stories started.... Then just ended. Real crap!

Ya know what's funny? I actually was okay with ASM2 the first time I saw it. The "messiness" reminded me of the 90s cartoon which was like an ongoing soap opera that was all over the place. But from an objective standpoint, I see why that aspect to only made for a technically bad movie, but a movie hat most everyone did not like.

I was okay with Andrew Garfield too. But I didn't understand the casting. He was around 30 when he started the character, and they fired McGuire partly because he had aged out.

I liked Batman 1-2 of the Keaton era

Daredevil directors cut is actually a good movie, the studio heads ruined it by cutting it down to make it PG-13 and the characters and plot suffered.

The extended cut of Daredevil is good in my opinion. Adds much more to the storyline.

I hope they just add on. I actually quite liked the last two Spiderman movies. I enjoy the guy playing the role of Spiderman. I think he's done a great job.

I'd rather they just add on from here.

The two original Spiderman movies were "amazing". Everything since then is not very good. They had it right the first time and need to recapture that magic if they reboot again. I would love to see Joss Whedon do Spiderman. I am looking forward to seeing the wall crawler showing up in the Marvel movies.

It reminded me of the cartoon also maybe late 80s or early 90s I'm thinking of. I had a deja vu moment with the juggling plutonium or whatever that was in the truck. Didn't they have that scene in the cartoon?
