This is silly.

I love how everyone (by that I mean "haters" in the media) is using the screen as a distraction from the awesomeness that is Cowboys Stadium.

The stadium...by nearly every account...is just amazing. There has to be one little thing for the haters to grab onto.

To top it all off....our team has looked pretty good (the first team anyway). That makes it worse.

That "one little thing" prevents people from fully playing football, which is the point of the stadium. So it is really not so little.

Really?

Did it prevent anything major Friday? It happened ONE TIME. The guy either made a bad punt....or he intentionally hit it.

The way most are talking, it sounds like the game was delayed an hour.....and no one could get a punt off without hitting the board.

I would say that the crappy turf from the Vet or Riverfront was far worse, and had a much more negative impact on how the game was played, than this new scoreboard. I also feel the that the dirt infields in Oakland and Miami have a far more negative impact than this scoreboard. These are NFL teams who play games on what seems like a flippin sandlot.

I would say the Philly, NY, and Cleveland fans pelting players with objects fully prevents the players from fully playing the game. When you are scared for your well being, you don't go all out.

I would say that silly NFL rules that have created a complete wussification of the league have caused people not to fully play football.

only idiots trying to hit it will hit it.....it is not in the line of fire for normal punting.......there is no where on the field that requires a punt to go 90 ft high to acquire field position.....

quite offseason, got rid of the troublemakers, got the D and ST coach upgraded, upgraded secondary, Hayes gets inducted, no camp cupcake, serious football first no drama mentality.....starters lookin good, Romo looking very good and taking care of the ball, just opened nicest stadium in the world.......what could there possibly be to complain about?.....our jumbo tron is to big .........thats kinda like saying "my beer is too cold" :bang2:

ah bull, all that sounds like is just a bunch of jealous seething rival fans trying to latch onto something negative.

I say too bad for other team's punters. Sucks to be them I guess.

With that being said, those same jealous rival fans demand we raise the thing with the thinking that it can't be done, and as if that will be a black eye for the stadium. The thing can be raised and 2 mill is not going to break anyone. What is really at stake is the feeling that they broke Jerry's will and making him do it.

This stadium will always be the stadium that everyone can just be jealous of because they do not have it. It will then match the jealousy they have of America's team and all will be good in the world.

That and the 'jumbotron' at FedEx is about the size of the screen on an iPhone.

Yet when a 2nd string punter happens to hit the jumbotron at Cowboys Stadium, that is supposedly and embarrassment.

Perhaps Snyder is smart to have such a small jumbotron so his fans won't have to see replays of their starting QB going 1-7 in a game.

None of those things caused embarrassing do-overs.

It's a shame you don't get any do-overs when it came to picking up Campbell, wahaha.

nope, just tons of injuries, which heavily impacted the game.

BTW, there doesnt have to be a do over....that is up to the league.

They have been having do-overs for years on onside kicks. used to have do-overs on kicks out of bounds. they league made rule changes and now there are no more do-overs on these plays.

But none of those do-overs have been caused by the stadium.

The stadium exists for the sake of the game. There is absolutely no reason why the stadium itself should interfere with the game to the point of a do-over. That should never happen, not even once.

When the stadium interferes with the game to the point of causing do-overs, that is a poorly designed stadium. It is just that simple.

This is what it reminds me of. Having something big for the sake of it being big. I don't get it. I think it looks crazy and takes away from the game.

What's your point? That car is killer. [/sarcasm]

Actually, they were caused by the stadium. Had they painted the out of bounds lines further out the onside kicks wouldn't go out.

The only thing you need to know is it meets league requirements, if it's to be raised, the NFL will need to divvy up the dough for it because they're the ones who signed away on it.

I'm not sure that a slightly low videoscreen constitutes a "design flaw." Every new stadium has quirks and unforeseen bloopers to work through, and the height issue is easy to correct.

I see the point....I think it's nitpicky and weak.

To me, teams that play with dirt/grass fields cause problems as well...especially in the kicking game.

Where's the outcry for that?

You have teams worth hundreds of millions of dollars and they can't furnish a stadium with a consistent playing field? To me, this can be dangerous as well.

Some people will complain about anything. The gargantuan video board is a genius idea. Raise it, lower it, I don't care. The Dallas Cowboys have the biggest damn video board in the best damn stadium. Period. Opposing punters are afraid. Boo hoo hoo. Advantage Cowboys. The haters can't find anything wrong with the stadium. They are all in awe, so that intentionally lousy punt hitting the video board gave them something to latch on to. Sadly, some Cowboys fans have latched on also.
