That might not be tough for a few stadiums, but there is quite a few that would be hell.
I say leave the scoreboard as is, let it be a crutch for all other punters. Our punter would have the advantage seeing he is used to it and he can get the distance without kicking it straight up in the air.
...so every stadium has to conform to 'fairness' for the visiting team?Hoofbite;2902862 said:Cause thats fair.

I know. Nitpicking.

Hoofbite;2902862 said:Which stadiums? I'm dying to know what other stadiums have things hanging from the ceiling like Dallas. Nearly 3/4 of the league plays outdoors and then there are a handful of stadiums that have retractable roofs. Only a couple stadiums are actually domed in such a manner that anything could hang over the field like it does in Dallas.
This argument is nothing more than a BS excuse.
What's fair is setting a league-wide rule and the Cowboys adhering to the rule.Hoofbite;2902881 said:As far as play on the field is concerned it should. The rest of the league shouldn't have to adjust to Dallas. Dallas should adjust to the rest of the league.
There is no arguing that.
He may very well hit it. But from my angle in the stands, his punts weren't really close. And according to McBriar himself he wouldn't hit it unless it were just a really bad punt.bbgun;2902884 said:The "He was deliberately trying to hit it!" crowd will have some explaining to do when McBriar nails the damn thing.
Am I sure?Hoofbite;2902875 said:You sure?
Can't really see it on this video but it looked like it landed at the 37.

- 13 yards - distance the ball traveled beyond the line of scrimmage to the video board

Yeah.
I think it's likely that Dallas and the league both knew that it was possible to hit the thing. Whether or not the league changed its mind about that possibility warranting a higher requirement is a completely different story.Hoofbite;2902891 said:And what also is fair is for Dallas to use some common sense to move the thing after the both the league and Dallas were proven to be wrong.
Then that logic should apply to the entire league, not just for Dallas. There are a number of issues involving other stadiums which impact games and the players moreso than the videoboard.Hoofbite;2902881 said:As far as play on the field is concerned it should. Why are you concerned where the ball landed? Once the ball hit the videoboard, it was declared dead by league rule.Hoofbite;2902893 said:When I say 27, I'm talking where the punt actually landed after hitting the board.
