No. Jerry doesn't seem to be one that asks for compensation on personnel transfers and with him becoming a HC there wouldn't be a way to get it anyway.

Thanks for the info

Troy and Moose have state numerous times that they would have loved to play for Bill, and I could see that. Guys like Nate Newton, Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin have said they would have hated playing for Bill ... I could also see that. Whether you love or hate working for Bill probably depends on the type of person you are. But there are too many cases of players who would run through a wall for him or coaches who would follow him anywhere he goes to suggest that he's universally unlikable or impossible to work with.

I'd love to know when this was really decided upon. You know it was probably a week ago, at least. Which sucks for our team. I don't care what anyone says -- how can you be as focused on your job when you know you're about to get a promotion with another company?

And of course he'd take a job for Parcells -- it's a huge promotion he might not get anywhere else. Just like Bowles will probably get. Is he really the best candidate available? Or is he just who Bill knows and has already "trained"?

And BTW, it's kind of crazy to say that Bill isn't overbearing and controlling. Not that that's the worst thing on earth, but far too many people have said so. Heck, Sparano admitted on a 103.3 interview that Bill made him keep the lid on things more that he would have liked. And we all know Zimmer didn't get to run the D he wanted.

Anyway, I'm glad he's gone, and I hope anyone else who is going goes pronto so we can square things away with whoever we're hiring to replace them.

You could probably focus on the task at hand better knowing you already have the job wrapped up waiting for your when your current job is finished as opposed to having it hang over your head, reading the headlines every day to see who else is interviewing for the job and/or what other HC jobs are opening up and calling your agent every couple of hours to see if he's heard any rumors.

Sparano likely had interviews with multiple organizations for their jobs. It's no secret where his preference was.

I'm happy for Sparano and wish him luck in every game except against our 'Boys.

No matter what scenario I come with...it doesn't work.

Except on Madden, but as we all know :madden:

Um, right.

So you think he just started lining up his staff today, eh?

And did ATL offer him the job? Just wondering.

i wish sporano the best of luck. He deserves an opportunity like this.

The thing that is a bummer to me is, Now the dolphins will probably draft the jason hatcher, jay ratliff, marion barber and chris canty's of the world.

They will also find the marc columbo's of the world too.

I really think that is what is going to hurt the most. The second day of the draft and the ability to recognize those current pro's that need to be given another opportunity.

I am pretty confident in two years miami is going to be a very good orgranization with a number of good young players.

I hope we still are too.

The Falcons didn't offer him ... there wasn't any point in even bringing him a second interview. It was already the worst kept secret in football that Sparano was going to take the Miami job.

Nope, dont think he started just lining up his staff today. Nor do I think that Garrett just started thinking about what his potential coaching lineup would be starting yesterday, even though he probably didn't have a offer in his back pocket like Sparano did. In fact, I'm sure that any coach linked to a job probably has tons of secret emails and word of mouths from prospective coaches and their agents expressing interest for a gig. That's the way it goes, until the NFL changes the rules about about coaches being contacted until their seasons are finished.

But Sparano took one for the team ... repeatedly ... in Dallas. After playcalling a top 5 NFL scoring offense in 2006 and being blocked from taking OC gigs elsewhere, Jerry rewarded him with a demotion and striped him of his playcalling duties because he wanted to bring in his golden boy. Sparano never complained and was nothing less than the good soldier. So to feign outrage or suggest a lack of loyalty by Sparano is more than a little bit juvenile. In Sparano's case, Jerry wasn't exactly a great boss to work under.

Good bye and good riddance...

If you can't get the biggest offensive line in the NFL to run-block, than you aren't that good.

It was his offensive line that collapsed in the second-half of the play-off game. Miles Austin had one-on-one coverage and was wide-open, and Tony only needed 3 seconds to toss it, and they couldn't provide him that much time...

The only reason I belive Jerry keeped him was because Jason Garrett was so young, and it was pretty much an insurance policy. And seeing how Jason worked out, Jerry did what he was planning to do all the time, and that was let Sparano go. Sparano now gets to work for his boy...

No argument on his being a loyal soldier.

But don't forget that Parcells refused to let him get a promotion with Sean Payton, too.

And Parcells also was, according to reports, trying to hire Dan Henning if he'd come back this year to be his OC. So even Parcells was going to demote him.

Once again, though, funny how now Parcells wasn't his boss -- Jerry was the big bad guy.

Seriously,

Our OL was over-rated... Who cares that Sparano is gone...

The only reason we even ran well this year was because of Marion Barber... The guy made most of his yards busting the play to the outside, because the hole that was suppose to be there wasn't.

This is precisely why Julius Jones sucked. While he lacked vision in the open field, he had no open holes to hit to even show how absolutely horrid he was in the second line of defense.

the more i've thought about it - this is what i've come to over the last week or so. our OL isn't a world beater or even a "top tier" one. if sprano was smith, would parcells still like him?

i don't view him as a huge loss and only time will tell either side right.

Also, pay attention to the number of assistants that leave with him.

be glad to. leave quickly so we can get what we need from the pool out there now.

we know changes need to be made to put this team over the top. our famous december slumps were here long before wade, right? so maybe all the people from the parcells group we cling so tight to *can simply be improved upon* into what wade and hopefully jason want to do.

we all clamor for change and then get mad when it comes cause it's not what we'd have done. change is coming. change is needed. now the predictions fly. : )

what in the name of silly italian dwarven gods are we rebuilding?

we've got a franchise qb (finally) a solid D that needs some tweaking, a solid RB that just needs more help than an RB who likes his OL's hineys a bit too much and crayton to shut up.

that's not rebuilding. that's day in and day out in the NFL.
