Speculating on Tony Romo's trade value **merged**

Not possible. Trading him would be the same as cutting him.
No it wouldn't.....if he was cut he would be a FA with no contract

If he was traded he comes with a 3yr/54m contract with 14m due in 2017 but no money guaranteed

For the Cowboys cap it's the same.

Reading this I really wish people would consider that people always tend to undervalue what they have and overvalue what the other guy has. People need to let their emotional intuition go.

Daniels, Kaepernick and some other quite spare QBs are making more than what is left on Romo's contract and there are franchises who are afraid to try and develop their own rookie QBs after strings of failures.

I think some people might be surprised how much they could get for Romo. Particularly if he is anywhere effective when he comes back in the next few weeks.

I guess we'll have agree to disagree, Bkight.

This is his make-or-break year, if he fails, then I will probably be in your camp, too. But he has flashed and there are still plenty in Texans land who believe he is a certifiable stud.

Respectfully :)
6.5 sacks in 20 games is all I'm saying

Name the 14

I said "most" don't have Romo ranked in the top 15 based on the last 2 seasons. Some don't even have him ranked in the top 32 starters because he hasn't been playing and the last time he did he wasn't very good. Not in any particular order but Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Eli, Winston, Mariota, Cam, Russell Wilson, Dereck Carr, Andy Dalton, Rivers, Brees, Matt Ryan, Flacco, Alex Smith, Andrew Luck and Sam Bradford would all be ranked ahead of Romo based on last season and this season.

Luck was injured most of last season but you'll have a tough time finding a current ranking that doesn't have him ranked ahead of Romo. I'm not saying all those QBs have been better than Romo over his career, some certainly haven't but most of those QBs would be ranked ahead of him based on last season and this season. You'll have a tough time finding a "current" QB ranking that proves me wrong based on the last 2 seasons. If you go back to the summer of 2015 you'll find rankings that have Romo in the top 10 but things have changed since. His stock went way down after the Carolina game and the injuries.

That's fine, Bkight, Texan fans are hopeful and believe he will be just fine with Watt out. Also, his first season was marred with a torn meniscus and he also had a hernia (and a concussion) etc... So if a propensity to injury makes him a bust, that's a different narrative that I perhaps could get behind. But Sean Lee says hello (yes, I know, not the same draft capital).

Let's slow the roll on calling him a bust. Or don't. But I won't (not yet, at least), and the majority of Texan fans aren't, yet, either.

Go find some "current" QB rankings and see where Romo is ranked. You're living in the past with him.

And also, Romo has always been criminally underrated by Big Media. So, argument fail.

**** rankings. We're debating our own opinions, not those of other people, KJJ

Opinions of Cowboys FANS are laced with bias. The fact is Romo is currently not a top 15 QB and that's not only my opinion but the opinion of "most" who get paid to talk football.

LOL, KJJ.

How can he be underrated with a 2-4 playoff record? The Cowboys have only made the playoffs 4 times in his 10 years as the starter and he's never gotten the team past the second round of the playoffs. I'm certainly not putting all the blame on him but QBs are judged by how they perform in the postseason and by their postseason record.

Are you kidding me? Cowboy fans are equally as hard on the team as outside media.
