Ah - it's "true."

But it hasn't actually "come true."

Eventually each one of you will die.

Possibly within 80 years.

You can thank me later. Just doing my part.

Slap, right in the mouth.

I get it now. Cowboyszone just recruited a comedian member in MikeD17. He post up false rumors to make us laugh. :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Come on everybody knew Vanderjaqt was going to eventually sign with the Cowboys but you claim you actually knew the date.

How about the Cowboys trading up for Vince Young? How true is that? Now this...

next 2 weeks is what he said

Well for your sake I hope he is right, because everytime someone comes in to post an inside tip, that turns out to be wrong (whether by their fault or not)...god kills a kitten.

Henson or Romo, I don't care which...but, I hope one of them hit the road if it's at all possible to bring in someone with actual NFL game experience. Because if Bledsoe goes down, so does the rest of the team I would think!

:star:

Hmmm...and I was hoping BOTH would become good QB's.

Take this for what it is, I wish harm on nobody...But it if BP decided not to give these a guys a look see on meanless games...a spraned ankle for 2-3 weeks during 2004-2005 would have been the ticket.

Whether it is nothing more than a made up story by this poster.

Whether it is a story he actually heard but will never come to pass or his source is full of bs.

No matter if he is telling the truth or flat out lying.

I would NOT be shocked at all if they indeed do intend to cut Henson.

I am not a Henson hater nor lover. I am not a Romo lover or hater.

I will just say that no matter how many on one side hate henson or the other loves him. No matter how many people cry bs or jump up celebrating.

I just would NOT be shocked if they indeed do intend to cut Henson.

I could see them wanting a vet to back up Bledsoe but to be honest I think if they cut him it would be for a cheaper 3rd string QB.

If you are paying a guy a decent wage hoping he will be a backup (2nd string QB) or eventual starter it is one thing. If the guy last year and from the start of things this year, seems to be nothing more than a 3rd stringer than I think teams would rather just get another prospect to develope but for much less.

So I am not saying it will happen or will not happen, but it would not shock me and in some ways I think I would half expect it to happen.

Pretty much in agreement with BP's take here. I get a growing sense that Henson is on borrowed time. Not a prediction, but I too would not be shocked in the least if he were released.

I think BP is going with Romo as the backup unless he really falls flat in camp. I don't think there are any other significant upgrade options out there. And I think BP believes Bledsoe is all but indestructible so #2 isn't as big a risk as with some other QB's.

If Henson is released I think it'll be to make room for a new #3 that can be developed though I think it has very little to do with money. Early returns on the Yale kid are supposedly positive.

We just don't hear significant positives out of Cowboy camp regarding Henson. It just feels like he's nearing the end of the line.

That's not a prediction. This is a prediction:

Someone will post something on this forum, maybe in this thread, but I just might be pushing my luck predicting the latter.

That is sooooo true. Of course we do have to keep in mind that no one at VR is allowed to speak with the media also.

If BP is against Henson for some reason or is playing a head game with comment like "He improved, but not as much as I liked" do you think an assistant would dare contradict BP ?

Wouldn't it would cost more to release Henson right now than keep him? I don't have the numbers, but his base salary is not expensive even for a backup. It's the garanteed bonus that he is supposed to get at year 4 I think (unless he recieved certain playing incentives prior) that we'd have to pay when we release him.

Then we'd also lose the extra roster spot we gained from sending him to NFLE.

But gieven what it feels like Parcells thinks of Henson, I wouldn't be shocked to see him released still.

And on the topic of inside sources...

If I had a friend who worked at VR I would still be very cautious about how I shared supposed inside info. Decisions and timing etc get modified all the time. And do you really believe there are very many people inside VR who truly have access to real sensitive information? I don't. Honestly I doubt the circle is much bigger than BP & the Jones family.

MikeD17 may indeed have a source there but I'm just saying I wouldn't hang my reputation on everything a supposed source supposedly divulges.

Gotta take everything BP says with a lot of salt anyway. He tends to praise guys just before he cuts them and rip guys he really likes.

What concerns me is you very rarely hear a camp report that "Henson had a great day." Or "Fans were oohing and ahhing a big pass by Henson" etc.

This last minicamp the word on Henson was that he was playing with the third stringers (not even getting reps with the #2's) so that he could get more individual coaching from Palmer.

That doesn't sound like a guy ready to make a big jump over Romo.

And it invites speculation - and I emphasize speculation - that the organization might be starting to lose patience.

I firmly believe Henson was a Jerry move, although I am equally sure Bill signed off on it. Still, that might shorten Bill's patience with the experiment if it really wasn't his idea to begin with. And he already got saddled once with a Jerry QB that screwed him over.

Again, before anyone jumps down my throat, just throwing some logs on the fire for discussion, not insuating or predicting anything.

If Bledsoe goes down, there isn't a vet available who could lead Dallas to a Super Bowl. An arguement might be made for Collins, but frankly, he didn't look like a QB who could keep the bus out of the ditch last year.

Dallas is in no different shape that NE would be without Brady, Indy without Manning, Philly without McNabb, etc. Aside from maybe Atlanta, I can't think of a single team that looks to be a playoff contender right now that might remain so if their starter went down for more than a handful of games. There certainly isn't anyone this late in the game that could have much of a positive impact. Romo - or Henson - is our best bet. At least they're unknowns. We already know that Testaverde, Blake, etc. can't get it done.

I'd like to know what would be gained by cutting Henson?

If it were to clear a roster space for a veteran backup named Kerry Collins, I could possibly understand the move.

Otherwise, I see no reason to give up on Henson.

There would need to be a positive for the team resulting from this move and I see none.

Water cooler talk from a lower level office person can suddenly come from the lips of the chairman if you listen the right way.
