It's nice to see someone who has the actual facts instead of throwing out that nonsense that Darren has "character issues". Just to add a few specifics:

1) The incident in which Darren broke his toe happened at a strip mall in Little Rock which is a popular hangout. There's a car wash, gas station, a few businesses and a bar in this strip mall. It's just your typical hangout place. Someone was stealing Darren's cousin's car. They were already in the car and driving away. People were walking in front of them so they had to stop the car for a second. Darren ran over, opened the door, and dragged the driver out. A fight ensued and Darren had on flip flops and broke his toe on a curb.

Sure, he probably shouldn't been out that late at night but I love how people call this just your typical bar fight even though he wasn't even at a bar and it wasn't just a fight.

2) The Escalade was purchase by Darren's step mom on a 6 month, no payment plan... an advertised program that's available to anyone who qualifies. I could give you a list of 500 other players and family members who started spending their NFL money before they were drafted. It's fairly common. Darren had nothing to do with this other than he was seen driving around in his mom's new ride.

Oh and the most recent "incident" was at a freakin piano bar in the Little Rock Rivermarket area which is like Dallas' West End...a lame tourist area. Darren was pissed because his brother got hit and the police cuffed him for about 1 minute until he calmed down. He wasn't even involved in that skirmish.

I didn't know all the details of that first incident, Dave, thanks for filling in the blanks... you're right, that makes that "character" concern thing even more laughable...

Some reports stated that the stolen car had already made it to the interstate and was up to 65 MPH before Darren ran it down and stiff-armed it to the curb.

Don't be so sure CL. The 4th pick on the "old" chart(the only chart) is worth 1800 points. Our 2 #1's are worth about 1400 points. If the Raiders want to deal down, that might very well get it done in todays "devalued" chart. Maybe throw in a 5th as well, or maybe a 4th next year?

You open to this potential trade BD? Thought you were against it sometime back? And yes, according to the "chart", this trade is VERY doable.........hmmm:)

Exactly. What happened to everyone that wanted him before?
And Dakota, that would be great if we could pull it off. I'd love to see what McFadden could do when he wasn't the sole focus of the defense every single play.

We're still here CL.....:)

I'd written off getting him a long time ago... But if there's a chance, I hope McFadden gets in two or three more bar fights before April. :D

You know what's sad? There's gonna be enough ill informed people here that read Nors' constant flat out LIES about McFadden and they'll start to believe it. Pretty soon he'll have a following and it'll be more than just Nors we're trying to educate on the matter.

Only Nors knows better, he really does. But he's gonna use it to support his agenda anyway.
Well I, for one, WILL NOT hold it against McFadden because his momma bought him a 100K Escalade. We should all be so lucky......;)

Nothing we have NOT heard here guys. Just thought I would post what I just saw todd mcshay say on espn news and it reiterates what many of us have thought ever since we acquired the browns #1 in last years deal.

Just saw todd mcshay on espn news and they discussed his new mock draft. He had Mcfadden going to Oakland at #4 overall in the draft and mentioned that Al Davis will likely look to trade down as he just paid Russell BIG money last year as #1 overall and wouldnt want to make the investment on another top 5 pick this year. He then said look out for a potential blockbuster deal between dallas and oakland with dallas giving up both firsts to move up and get mcfadden bc of Jerry Jones' ties to arkansas.

Money? Al Davis should be licking his lips at the prospect of putting a QB everyone thinks will be great with a RB everyone thinks will be great.

Had Jerry not gone to Arkansas, I don't think we'd even be talking about this.

What Arkansas player has Jerry drafted?

When the guy was tearing up teams with 30 rushes for 200+ yards most of us would have given our right arm for the kid. Then the Browns do well and drop that pick way down and i like most had to rethink what i thought was the best avenue. Now that we have two low picks i guess I'm greedy and want my CB and my RB;) but i will not deny i think DMac has the potential to be a top 5 player in the entire NFL. I'm OK with staying where we are and getting two good players but if we can score DMac for #22 and #29 I'm more than OK with that move because I'm a believer that DMac is a once in ten years kinda back for the franchise that gets him. I know the Galloway move will come up, but DMac has a much higher ceiling than JG ever did IMHO.

Jerry is a self proclaimed "risk taker" and when you look at the history of top 10 RBs, it's certainly a high risk move, but then again any prospect is a risk and being a 21 year die hard draftnik i know full well ya just never know.

you guys watch any football? Two late round picks for McFadden is a steal. McFadden is exactly what Dallas needs. An explosive, fast, all purpose RB that can start with Barber getting what he does best and that is moving the pile. Elite players are what separate the good teams from the great ones and McFadden is elite.

A defensive coordinator has no problems with Dallas next year as the roster looks now. Owens (another year slower) Crayton, Barber and Witten. Not a lot of speed there.

get a corner and wr in FA and make that trade. the Mcfaddens of the world are not easy to come by. barber is a good back but he needs help and can be for sure barber will be here

exactly,a cb never impacts a team his first year, maybe one here and there. And same with WR,get them both in FA.Mcfadden is definitely going to be a big star and with him and Barber -O my.look out.

YES, totally agree! It's simple to me. When all is said and done (the combine, private workouts, etc.), I believe D-Mac will be rated the #1 prospect in the draft. IF you can trade a #22 & #29 pick for the best player in the draft you do it.....

Maybe I need to watch more of McFadden, but my only concern is that he doesn't seem to have much in the way of power or wiggle. Most of his runs were him just running by people. He's got good vision and acceleration, but I really don't want to get stuck with Reggie Bush II where you can't rely on him for tough yards.

We've already got Barber who can grind out the tough yards as well as get big gainers.

Very good points.

In attempting to win a Super Bowl we do not need a running back. It wouldn't hurt to have another good or better RB of course, but it isn't a need. Right now needs are:
1. LT
2. 2nd or 3rd CB
3. 2nd WR
4. 3-4 DE
5. Backup RB

So do you trade two firsts to "fix" issue 5?
Only if you have handled 1-4 previously or feel you can in a later round.

If I can draft Steve Slaton at pick 60+ would I trade two top 30 picks for DMac? Nope. Heck Felix Jones is a kick returner who may have more value for our specific needs next year.

We don't NEED #1 or #4 on your list. Their is a reason that we have drafted Free, Marten and are very high on McQuisten, we have three guys who have all played tackle in college and certainly have the potential to play LT for us IF and that is a huge IF Flozell Adams leaves. It is far from set in stone that Flozell Adams will even leave.

And the LAST thing we need is MORE 3-4 DE's. We have three that could start for most teams in the league and maybe even a 4th if you put Ratliff at his best position DE.

Infact I would make the argument that the thing that this team needs most, is a player on offense that is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. While we had a ton of big plays, it was not because we had WOW players all over the field, it was because Garrett was SUPER aggressive in his play calling. Marion Barber is great at what he does, but he doesn't have the speed to take it to the house every time he touched the football. TO is the only real play maker we have on offense.
