One thing I've learned.

Any idiot can get drunk and hit another person. Doesn't scare people.

Getting drunk, **** talking a brick wall, then punching it.... scares people. Makes them think you are insane. They'll back off of you real quick, if confrontations arise, thus meaning you don't have to fight/don't get kicked out of the bar.

FINALLY, A COWBOY GETS PINCHED

Posted by Mike Florio on January 11, 2009, 6:42 p.m.

Well, it’s finally happened.

After nearly two years of tracking all arrests of NFL players and club employees, a member of the Dallas Cowboys has been busted.

Specifically, defensive end Anthony Spencer was arrested in Indianapolis on Sunday, and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Though the Cowboys have plenty of locker-room miscreants and problem children, they have done a great job at staying out of trouble.

Of course, given the fact that former Cowboys cornerback Pacman Jones wasn’t patted down and cuffed after getting in an altercation with one of his 24-hour-a-day babysitters in October, it’s possible that incidents that might have resulted in an arrest anywhere else ended with no charges in Dallas, out of deference to the home team.

Spencer and his agent, Matthew Millhouse, reportedly tried to bribe the proprietors of the Have A Nice Day Cafe to remain open. It’s unclear whether Millhouse, who is not an NFLPA-certified contract advisor, was arrested as well.

Well, maybe now Spencer can play like a first rounder. Next year is year 3, and if he can't make plays, we need to draft another OLB.

For those who don't remember, Spencer was fined during training camp for missing treatment while he was hurt.

It didn't seem like he cared...

Time for the Cowboys to relocate and change their name. [sarcasm/off]

Yeah. I remember that now. Definitely a "what the hell did he just do? moment.

No he did not let it slide!

Remember how much remorse Wade had when he had to "fine him 100 dollars"?

I'm not going to bash Spencer for messing up one time. Spencer, unlike Barbie, has been a positive addition to the team. He can't help it if he isn't playing on third down. Spencer plays the run very well. He's a strong, physical player. He has all the tools to play opposite of Ware, and the knee injury in the preseason hurt him and the Cowboys. Having him cover kicks after a knee scope was asking for the hamstring injury. That's on the trainers and coaches.

The Cowboys need to part ways with Greg Ellis and cut Barbie Carpenter. Cutting Barbie sends a message to the team. Cutting Ellis, a perpetual complainer, promotes Anthony Spencer. Spencer was having a great camp before the knee injury, and he takes Ellis' job if Phillips doesn't allow Ellis' whining to factor in.

Spencer should fire his agent, and he needs to be sat down and talked to about his behavior. The team is counting on him. They have invested a #1 pick in him. He's better than this. He needs to grow up.

Indianapolis - Metro police arrested a former Purdue football player at a downtown bar early Sunday.

Anthony Spencer, 24, was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being thrown out of Have A Nice Day Cafe around 3 a.m. Sunday. Police say Spencer, who is from Fort Wayne and currently plays defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, tried to give the bar money to stay open later, along with his agent, Matthew Millhouse.

Police say Spencer then threw punches at bouncers, pounded on exit doors and shouted at bar staff. They say he and Millhouse also argued with police officers who told them to leave.

Spencer was drafted out of Purdue in 2007.
