Like any rookie..he will need some time to adjust and learn how to play in the NFL.
Yeah!! He's not in detox or prison...that's promising. Its hard to get sacks from a cell block.I'm still cool with Taco. He needs to get as many game snaps this season as they can afford to give him and then another offseason of seasoning in the weight room. I see him more as a LDE due to his lack of bend, but he might be able to beef up into a bullish type RDE like Greg Hardy was in Carolina. He's still just a young pup at this point. The one thing going for him is that he seems durable and has yet to show any propensity to get in trouble off the field. That has to be seen as somewhat of an upside compared to the past DE's we've drafted/signed.
What else do you expect them to say? Another defensive first round bust, we're getting good st those.
Too early to get upset. Everyone wants the guy on fire but most take a year or more to get it going. Patience is the plan here.
On fire? I would settle for a spark from him. Something.
I'm one of the biggest critics of this Front Office on this board and I still think he was a solid pick at 28. TJ Watt might have been a consideration but he was far from a sure thing with his injury history and size.
We supposedly wanted Adoree Jackson badly, but he went 10 picks higher. We also were believed to want Takkarist McKinley, which may have been why Atlanta jumped ahead of us to get him. We have overpaid in the past to move up so I'm not going to be a hypocrite and complain that we didn't move up. Taco was the right pick and fans expecting the 28th overall pick to come in and dominate from day one aren't being realistic.
Next off-season, a true edge rusher at RDE will be needed. We may end up Franchise Tagging Demarcus Lawrence but even then, the team needs to address the position since that's only a 1-year lease.
Injuries were his back story, right? I recall Dane talking about him on the draft show.
I'm sure you're not alone.
The Cowboys have lost four of their last six games...starting from last year.
Taco will be showing up about when that string reaches a positive run.
Taco has shown less flashes than Tapper. Taco could turn into the dominant DL we hope for but Right now I wouldn't hold my breath. He needs time in the weight room because he probably won't get it done based on speed. He had better work on his technique and strength.
Right now the lack of any spark brings the word potential bust at least in the conversation. 100 snaps. Only 3 tackles. That isn't awe inspiring stuff.
Hopefully they will move him to LDE where he has a better chance of success.
That can't stay healthy. I couldn't imagine Watt on this team and getting injured with you fans. Always complainingBut let's be real, the only comparison anyone wants to hear is:
TJ Watt: 13 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 int. (Don't mention that he's a LB in an attacking scheme)
Do you mean TJ watt?I think Taco was over drafted. That doesn't mean he can't turn into the next JJ Watt, but right now his production indicates he was overdrafted and a huge reach.
I'm not complaining. I know Watt wasn't gonna be our guy, and I don't like him as much as many on here. Pittsburgh has a totally different d, on so many levels. That can't stay healthy. I couldn't imagine Watt on this team and getting injured with you fans. Always complaining

yeah Lawson was a great find in the 3rd/4th. I was hoping tapper broke out like that but he is another injury prone player.Forget Watt, I wanted Carl Lawson in the 3rd/4th round. He is a beast for the Bengals right now
Taco also has this frame that looks ...unfinished. Not that he's skinny now but he looks to have another 20 lbs to fill outDerek Barnett: 5 tackles 0 sacks
Charles Harris: 3 tackles 0 sacks
Takk McKinley: 4 tackles 1 sack
Taco Charlton: 3 tackles 0 sacks
