Has he broken a tackle yet...made a nifty cutback? And the most glaring thing that pops out to me is I don't find him demonstrating the instinct for sunshine...the timing...the elite vision that historically good running backs have.

All l can say is finally, the club has some young talent that may take the franchise back to glory. There is a lot to be optimistic about. Next major project...DEFENSE. Its still a couple years away...but, the Cowboys are certainly headed in the right direction.

Chicago should boost Zeke confidence.
They have no D Line and a hurt, bad secondary. There are a couple of nice pieces on D and a newly weakened Offense without Bennett and Forte. We should beat them and Zeke, Dez, Beasley and Dak should have a field day.

There does seem to be an element missing in Elliotts toolbox. Lets see where he is after 8 games.

Give Morris the start next week as a subtle (or not so subtle) message to him and the rest of the team. Or have him carry/protect a football all week, have defensive players take shots at it.

then be done with it, he'll be fine.

Really? When is this happening? Week 7? 10? 14?

Sooner than later if we keep piling up 400yds of offense. Teams cant allow Dak to gash them all game with Beasley/Witten and low and behold Dez taking advantage of defenses instead of them dictating to us what we may do. Eventually they will play us honest...

you have to be patient with RB until they have about half a season to adjust to speed and power of defensive players. He basically didn't have training camp.

They benched him with the game on the line. That's enough. No more messages need to be sent. He's not a child. He knows fumbles are bad (he went to Ohio State for Christ's sake)

Nah, all we heard about were the early proclamations of immediate greatness by Zeke.
'
Now that he's struggled a bit, they're changing their tune to "its way too early...."
No, everyone said how great DMC's 1089 and 3 TDs were

EE is on pace for 1072 and 16 TDs

AMorris got 3 carries...exactly what his role is.....reliable veteran back-up RB

I think the biggest thing missing is pre-season reps. They spent too much time with him on the sidelines stretching his sore hamstring.

But he was better this week than last, so he's working into form.

I Simply disagree JG should show the team 0 tolerance, even the 4th overall pick can ride the bench... I'm not talking about only giving him 5 carries, just sit him the first series, it really not much more then a slap on the wrist.

So what was his mistake on the fumbles? I assume he had to make a mistake if he was punished. Was he carrying the ball loosely - was it a Demarco Murray, ball away from the body type thing? Sending a message only works if the guy did something that he can change, so what was it?

Would like to see Morris get more carries, he seems to run good when given the ball.

Care to elaborate. Not down on the kid at all but surely his psyche is strong enough to handle this.

I wouldn't play the inferior player there. I'd show faith and trust in the guy I just used the 4th overall pick in the draft on.

They still won the game but they did so with a lesser talent in the backfield in a game that went down to the wire. It didn't make any sense to me.

Agreed. I am a big fan. Just seems like there is something not right. The missed pre season could well explain it. That makes the most sense.

It was the right thing to do, but all this negative Zeke talk is ridiculous. Dude will be great and we should be pretty stoked as we have our future QB and RB and they are rookies! Now, let's fix this Defense and contend for NFC East.

Agree with all the doomsday talk re Zeke. But he's not shown enough yet and guess what.....he may never be elite. Right now he's a good RB who has trouble hanging onto the ball. I don't know about his ability to block. Yes, he's supposed to have been All World in college. Means squat to me. Show me the money. WR and RB has a high failure rate in the NFL even in the first.

He needs to earn to play in the NFL.

And how could it be a mistake to sit him after the second fumble esp in a tight, away, and division game.
