Thats who teams are calling on. I know an NFL scout+ told me we were totally loaded there - this story verifies that. I see Henry getting moved potentially :)

;)

Again, You dont have to be an nfl scout to see we have an abundance of talent at corner.

and again, Someone would have to offer a big time talent for us to give up henry. A big time wr I would say.

Anthony Henry is a starting corner, will likely lead the team in interceptions again and is also now a nickel 'backer over the tight end in place of Roy Williams.

We will not trade Amp.

What did we turn that 4th into? I can't remember. Wasn't it Scandrick and at least one pick next year?

So what do you think those two were worth?

And BTW, I don't think I ever said trading Ayodele was a great idea. Pretty sure I said he'd at least be good depth for us, even if he wasn't that good.

But I do think he and Fasano are spares. You know well that starting doesn't mean a guy is a good player.

And for the record... I HATED the Fergy trade. I think a 6th for a good starting 34 NT and team leader is horrible.
We got Tashard Choice and Orlando Scandrick with that 4th round pick in a trade down. In my book a trade of Ayodele and Fasano for Choice and Scandrick is coming out ahead.

Yeah, I think we will go get Beck from Miami. I'd sure like to see us add the veteran WR but we're not going to pay extortion.

Roy Williams? :D

Just saw wr marcus monk was released in chicago today. Wasnt he one of the guys Dallas had their eyes on?

I remember reading alot about him around here.

Monk is an imposing target, but he lacks the quickness needed to be a receiver at this level, IMO.

Always thought some team would attempt to grow him into a tight end/h-back.

I've no idea if our scouts liked him or not, but it'd never hurt to take a quick look by bringing him in for a workout.

I haven't made any secret of the fact I'd welcome him or Boldin. I brought him up only because I know he wants to come here. In my opinion, if we add a weapon like him at #2 WR no one will beat us. I have been saying that once Adam Jones is reinstated and Newman is healthy that I won't be surprised if we do offer Henry in a package deal. I doubt he'd be re-signed when his contract is up and I think we'd like to get something in return. Perhaps another trophy.

Roy Williams. Mike Williams. Boldun

Stop it!

Shaun McDonald, Furrey, Welker of the worlds are better. Too many get caught up in name and "pedigree"

I would love a Wes Welker type of guy. Not a number 1 receiver but does really well as a second reciever without the coverage on him. Not that I don't want a Boldin/Williams type of guy

When I want your opinions on football I will make sure my wife has me committed to an insane asylum.

I'm just messing with you. But yeah, I'd like to get another solid WR here too.

I know you are. It doesn't bother me. I'll just answer honestly. I think this team is significantly weak at WR after Owens. Losing him against Carolina last year was our death knell. Our young WRs are nice kids with decent potential, but I'm not afraid of being honest. If Patrick Crayton were on another team as their primary WR (what he'd be for us if Owens went down) it would not scare me. Nor would any of the others.

Then you'd have to deal with him everyday!!!!

Why don't you like the idea of Horn then?

A big key with Patrick Crayton is to not leave him out wide too much on passing downs, his best work comes from the slot and working the middle of the field.

No one on this team can replace what Terrell Owens brings to our attack, so the key would be to continue finding ways to allow the others to do what they're best at instead of trying to replace Ocho Uno with someone who can't do his job.

I also think Jason Garrett is going to field a more balanced attack this season between the run and pass. We were too dependent of throwing the ball last year and that made Owens' injury all the worse and more difficult to adjust to.

I honestly hope he doesn't trade Scandrick.

But if a trade happens it better be a WR or MLB.

I just don't understand all the hoopla about a QB when BJ is a serviceable backup

BJ is serviceable.... :D I think he's a rather good player, that BJ.

I like young Veterans with some career ahead of them, not Jurassic period examples with nothing ahead of them but Geritol.

When you say "He wasn't going to accept a back up role" you act like he had any choice in the matter. He was under contract. He had two options .. play for the Cowboys or find a new career. Do they worry about Spears "not accepting a backup job' when they experiment with moving Ratliff over to defensive end? Why would Akin be any different.

Even if you're right, the Cowboys 'threw in" a starting middle linebacker for nothing in April. They could have gone into training camp with at least giving mouth service to an open competition and see what shaked out on the injury front. It's not like injuries to Zach Thomas or Kevin Burnett would come out of the blue. If at the end of training camp it's determined he's not needed, give him away then. Or better yet, wait and see if a team doesn't break camp desperate for LB's after preseason injuries and actually try to get something. Not only did the Cowboys sell low on an asset, they just gave it away.

we had a 1st rounder and 2nd rounder as backups at ILB, 2 guys they liked

you can't keep everyone, esp. an older vet who's at his ceiling and who would impede the young guys' progress

InmanRoshi;2210093 said:
What do you call it when you trade a starting ILB and a young TE who will probably catch 40-50 passes this year for a 4th round pick?

same thing you call trading Terrell Owens, an All-Pro, for a 5th round pick

he just doesn't fit into the plans
