so Stephen jones is going to take the blame for inflicting Weeden on us? why did he think Weeden could play when he failed so miserable in Cleveland? did he think Wade Wilson is a magician and transform him into a good QB? frankly i am a little rattled in my faith in Stephen who i thought was more pragmatic and level headed than Jerry.

This is what I don't get.

They had Weeden for 2 seasons, he even got all the first team reps when Romo sat out of Wednesday practice. So how in the hell can they watch the guy for 2 years, even practicing with the first team offense and he turns out to suck so bad?

None of our coaches or scouts noticed him sucking in practice?

This is what is more disturbing when you think about it.

20 years of being beat down as a fan has numbed me to the point of not being terrified by anything Jerry might or might not do . . . . . . . . just sayn'

I'm right there with you. I can't remember the last time I was amped up for a season. The Parcells days was about as close as I came to being a happy fan since the 90s. Even then I couldn't stand Jerry.

I'd sooner expect you'll see a money-tree grow in your yard overnight.

You are right because their are a lot of morons out there that pay him to go watch the crap he has been selling since Jimmy Johnson the real GM behind all those SB teams left every team in the NFC East love to keep Jerry right where he is they know he does not know enough to get to another SB smart business man Dumb Football man and the Fans put up with it too !

I was looking forward to this season to see if we could continue on and take the next step. Well, we did only it was a giant leap backwards.

yeah no telling who the jones boys get for the bkup, these are the same guys who went out and got weeden, and then
brought in moore, but refuse to play him.

We will have better higher picks , but no telling who these guys draft or get in FA.
And Romo will be the starter next year, and the year after, and getting a young guy to develop is a joke, as they have never developed
a QB !
In fact QB's seem to play worse the longer they are with the cowboys.

How does Wilson keep his job ??????????????????

I hate to say it but it's kind of what I expected. Romo went down earlier than I thought he would. But the second he went down I looked at the people I was watching with and said that's that for the season.

I always worry when Jerry becomes set on addressing a problem -- shades of 2000 nfl draft. But, surely, not with QBs, right?

Did the lap dog ask Stephen how dumpster diving worked out this year?

Teams usually don't let go of good backup QBs. We may have to draft one high to find a good backup or we'll likely end up with another Weeden or Cassel.

Since there arent 32 good starters, I think you are onto something.

Has anyone even watched Maziel play lately? The dude has looked really goodand has been playing the position well. Going through his progressions like a veteran and leading the team on scoring drives. I know he has some immaturity and off the field issues, but if you could fix that...

You can't fix a weak arm...

I hear yea Sarge, its just dumb founding how this organization comes to the conclusion that a backup QB fixes all of this.

Apparently they are thinking that not having a quality QB when Romo went down is what sunk the season. Ergo, go get a quality backup QB that can win games when Romo gets hurt again next year and this thing will purr like a kitten and we will be knocking on 12-4 again.

How about safeties?
How about some run stuffing DTs?
How about a WR that can take the top off the defense?
How about a RB that doesn't get stuffed on every dam 3rd and 1?

Nah, backup QB is the top priority................literally no words at this point:huh:

All those other things are important, and I'm sure they're looking at those, too. However, if we find ourselves in the same position as this year in terms of QB (because the truth is, we can't count on Romo to play a full season anymore), we're screwed, regardless of whether we address those other areas.

I am big on QB stats in the red zone more than between the 20's. Right now pro football reference has Manziel as 38th ranked passer in the red zone. Not particularly impressed.

I cannot even verbalized how angry I'd be if the Cowboys selected a QB in the top five of round one!
You have to draft a starter there...unless Romo retires, I'd draft a developmental QB in rounds 2 or 3.

First thing the Jones need to do this offseason is Hire a Football Guy to Run the Team because Father and Son are Dumb and Dumber that's why this team has not seen a SB on 20 years !

You have a better chance of being struck by lightning.
