To me it looks like Wentz has a lot of potential like the two top seeded QB's.
He can be had in the second at this present ranking. There are several blue chip
defensive players around where we'll draft that will make our team better in the first.
The third round is loaded also.

Look, mates. We'll be in contention with a number of teams for a blue-chip QB.
Titans won't need a QB. San Diego still believes Rivers has maybe 3 more years left. the Lions already have a slinger. The Browns now believe Johnny Looseball can play -- they won't be in the QB stakes.
The Dollphins have their Aggie QB. Now as I see it, the 49ers might be interested in a QB pick in the first round. That team will be our main competitor for a QB in the first round.

Just get the best QB in the 1st round Sir Jones and quit dragging your Italian-loafered feet.
A QB, Sir Jones, not a backup.

your dreaming ! lol
1st I doubt jerry would draft a qb with top pick, and if he did would he get a good one ??
and even if he gets a good one , and these coaches develop him to be a NFL qb?? I dont think so.

knowing jerry he will trade draft picks for kap, manziel, RG3 or some other vet QB.

Manziel has played one game in the past month and looked mediocre against the 49ers.

That's the number one priority?

I hear yea Sarge, its just dumb founding how this organization comes to the conclusion that a backup QB fixes all of this.

Apparently they are thinking that not having a quality QB when Romo went down is what sunk the season. Ergo, go get a quality backup QB that can win games when Romo gets hurt again next year and this thing will purr like a kitten and we will be knocking on 12-4 again.

How about safeties?
How about some run stuffing DTs?
How about a WR that can take the top off the defense?
How about a RB that doesn't get stuffed on every dam 3rd and 1?

Nah, backup QB is the top priority................literally no words at this point:huh:

I think Kaepernick will end up being a Cowboy.

I'm pretty sure they see the other problems.

It's just that backup QB is what many fans and the media are focusing on so that's what gets the attention.

Even Jerry has made mention that the problems extend beyond the backup QB.

I agree with Jones to a point.
This season is an example of back up failure.
Our defense would have played way better in fourth quarters
if they have not have been on the field so much and the back up
could have provided a little more scoring punch.
The back up was a big deal this season.
All those positions you correctly exampled a right on.

According to Mickey Spagnola who interviewed Stephen Jones today, The backup Qb position will be the teams #1 priority in the offseason.

Don't be shocked if the Cowboys start dangling draft picks to get a backup qb they really want.
I have a feeling Johnny Football will be a Cowboy for like a 3rd or 4 th rd pick or something. If Stephen says it's the #1 priority I don't think they will be taking a chance that someone gets released, That sounds like they will be making some phone calls and being very proactive in getting a quality backup.

Thoughts?

The Browns are not letting go of Johnny Manziel for a 3rd or 4th unless he tanks or makes another bonehead public display over the next four weeks.

He's looked good his last few starts, I don't see it happening.

so Stephen jones is going to take the blame for inflicting Weeden on us? why did he think Weeden could play when he failed so miserable in Cleveland? did he think Wade Wilson is a magician and transform him into a good QB? frankly i am a little rattled in my faith in Stephen who i thought was more pragmatic and level headed than Jerry.

Exactly.

The odds are good he's in Cleveland next season.

We need a ton of help but with Romo we may never see more than eight or nine games with him healthy again. I have QB as the number one priority. But not necessarily back up. I would like more than that.

The only back up I want to see here, is one draft in the first 2 rounds of the draft. And that he will be the eventual franchise starter in 2. To 3 years, or when Romo goes out again.

But we all know that won't happen. It they somehow are successful. It will be by shear luck, and not from a well thought out planned scheme.

Such negativity? :D
